Father of a Marine who was killed in the terrorist bombing of Kabul, Afghanistan last year, attacked President Joe Biden for filming a fun segment with Jay Leno on the one-year anniversary.
Friday marked the one year anniversary of the Kabul airport attack in 2021 that killed 13 U.S. military personnel during President Joe Biden’s disastrous withdrawal from Afghanistan. This left hundreds of Americans homeless in Afghanistan, which was quickly taken over by the Taliban after America’s departure.
According to the Daily Mail, Biden recorded a fun segment about cars for Jay Leno’s Garage’s upcoming episode.
The father of Marine staff Sergeant. Taylor Hoover, one of 13 U.S. military personnel killed in Kabul last summer, spent Friday at Arlington National Cemetery where his son is buried.
“He is tone-deaf and insensitive. Daily Mail reported that Hoover said it was absurd. “I don’t expect the world will stand still to celebrate our kids, but at least I hope it does something.”
“We went to Arlington, and we laid a wreath at the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier. The father asked, “Why can’t he do anything in memory of all 13,” It should be reflected upon and remembered.”
He said, “To have such an solemn ceremony and to have people there is the meaning of it.” It doesn’t change anything, but it helps to remember that they won’t be forgotten.
Biden seemed to be happy while speaking to the media about Friday’s time with Leno.
The president stated, “It was great. It was a lot fun.” “We discussed how electric cars will change America’s environment. It was great.
Biden said, “It was even funnier to drive an older Corvette.” “And that Ford Lightning, man! I got to drive it again. It was a quick SOB!”
According to a transcript from her media briefing, Biden didn’t appear to visit Arlington National Cemetery last year to pay his respects for the U.S. military personnel killed in Kabul. White House Press Secretary Karine Jean Pierre suggested that the president could have issued a statement to cover his bases.
Jean-Pierre answered a question about Hoover’s comments and said that it was an important day that Hoover wanted to acknowledge, so he made the statement.
