If you’re not familiar with Project 2025, chances are you’re about to be.

Project 2025, also known as the Presidential Transition Project, is a plan put forth by the Heritage Foundation to reshape the federal government and consolidate executive power.

Donald Trump on Friday disavowed knowledge of Project 2025, saying he has “nothing to do with it.”

Whether Trump’s statement was in response to comments made by Heritage Foundation President Kevin Roberts, who said on Tuesday, “We are in the process of the second American Revolution, which will remain bloodless if the left allows it to be,” is unclear.

Roberts repeated the line in an “X” post on Wednesday.

Taken in proper context, Roberts’s reference to “bloodless” seems reasonable enough.

Trump has outlined his own plans to remake the government if he wins in November, warning his allies not to presume to speak for him while suggesting their transition-in-waiting efforts were not helpful in his bid.

A Project 2025 spokesperson told Fox News Digital when asked about Trump’s comments:

And as to be expected, Biden campaign spokesperson Ammar Moussa said:

What “scares the hell out the American people,” Ammar, is the prospect of cognitively-vacant Joe Biden remaining in the White House, not to mention his word-salad-queen vice president, Kamala Harris taking over the controls.

    The Bottom Line

Politics is a tricky business. Good, bad, or indifferent, words intentionally taken out of context and exploited by the other side can lead candidates to respond in a way designed to put out a potential fire without changing his or her policies. I suspect “non-story” is an example.
