The Democrat Party is searching for its new identity in all the wrong places.
Proving they have learned nothing at all from the 2024 presidential election, namely that American taxpayers are tired of footing the bill for The Swamp’s pet causes, the left is now throwing a prolonged tantrum over the move by President Donald Trump to disband the U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID) and have it absorbed into the State Department. It’s one of those times that you have to question how exactly Dems are benefitting from USAID since they are objecting so vociferously to it losing its purported independence and gaining much-needed oversight.

BREAKING: Secretary of State Marco Rubio Announces He Has Taken Over As ‘Acting Director’ of USAID
They’re so incensed that they’re taking their anger to the streets of Washington, D.C., with a rally and press conference held Monday outside of USAID headquarters, where reporters seemed to greatly outnumber protestors.
🚨#BREAKING: Democrats are protesting the Trump Administration’s shutdown of USAID, an organization that provides humanitarian aid around the world

Currently, a large number of Democrats and protesters have gathered outside the U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID) offices in Washington, D.C. in response to President Donald Trump’s move to abolish the agency. The decision has sparked widespread outrage, with critics arguing that dismantling USAID would undermine global humanitarian efforts, weaken U.S. foreign aid programs, and diminish America’s influence abroad.
If you look closely, you’ll see the protestors holding signs saying things like “USAID SAVES LIVES” and “MUSK&TRUMP: KEEP YOUR FASCIST HANDS OFF USAID.” Democrats, their lapdogs in the media, and the useful tools who show up to hold signs like this want you to think that the “AID” in USAID actually equates to humanitarian aid; it doesn’t, of course, and our own Bonchie had a nice summation of what USAID actually is:
Donald Trump’s war on the bureaucratic state has recently centered on USAID, a slush fund of taxpayer often money used to pay off NGOs, warlords, and anti-American states under the guise of “soft power.” In some cases, money was even funneled to left-wing domestic organizations claiming to promote “democracy.”
There’s actually a great explainer video from December that’s now going viral due to its succinct explanation of how USAID uses “Hearts and Minds” messaging to cover for its true mission: giving payouts, at taxpayer expense, to the pet causes of certain politicians and their friends.
Democrats are apparently so addicted to that sweet, sweet USAID money that they are threatening to hold up President Trump’s nominees until he restores the agency to its former status. Sen. Brian Schatz (D-HI) is leading the charge, promising to put a “blanket hold” on all Trump nominees currently going through the confirmation process.
The Senate typically speeds up the confirmation of many nominees through “unanimous consent,” a process that bypasses a formal vote if no senator objects. By objecting, Schatz’s hold would halt the Senate’s ability to move nominees quickly, requiring Senate Majority Leader John Thune to use precious floor time to advance the president’s picks through the confirmation process.
“I will oppose unanimous consent,” he told The Wall Street Journal. “I will vote no. I will do maximal delays until this is resolved.”
The message from Democrats is clear: Preserve USAID at all costs because it funds what we want funded, American taxpayers be damned. Instead of taking a beat to reflect on lessons learned in 2024, they are clinging to the kind of Swamp-fueled government waste and corruption that put them where they are, proving yet again that their priorities lie anywhere but with the American people.
