Hispanics and younger voters support the deportation actions by President Donald Trump’s administration following days of chaos from the anti-ICE riots in Los Angeles.
According to a new poll released on Monday from the League of American Workers (LAW) and TechnoMetrica Institute of Policy and Politics (TIPP), nearly six out of ten registered voters support the administration’s “pace of deportations … prioritizing individuals with criminal records.”
And when those numbers are broken down, a vast amount of the support comes from Hispanic voters. The survey found that 53 percent of Hispanic voters said they supported it, and another 27 percent said they strongly supported it.
In another blow to the Democrats’ previous stronghold on youth voters, Generation Z, a growing block of voters on the right, threw their support behind the administration’s pace by 50 percent who said they support Trump’s administration’s actions, and another 22 percent of those in this generation said they strongly support them.
Respondents were also asked about “gotaways,” which they said “refer[s] to individuals who illegally cross the border and are observed but not apprehended. Under President Trump, the number of Getaways has declined by 95% compared to former President Joe Biden’s administration.” It found that 65 percent said Trump deserves credit over Biden. That includes 61 percent of the Hispanic voters who responded to the survey.
The Daily Caller News Foundation report found support among black voters for Trump’s deportation pace too, with 46 percent of black voters saying they supported it.
LAW President Steve Cortes told the DCNF, “As this polling makes clear, Americans chose Donald Trump precisely because of his America First approach to immigration, plus law-and-order generally.”
“This survey reveals that violence and radicalism in Los Angeles and other cities only serve to reinforce the will of the people to achieve secure borders, orderly, lawful migration, and peace in our streets,” he added.
Cortes is a former senior advisor to both Trump and Vice President JD Vance, and he currently serves as the senior political advisor to political advocacy nonprofit CatholicVote.
The TIPP survey was conducted online between June 9-11. It was taken among a sample of 1,584 registered voters, with a credibility interval of +/- 2.5 percentage points.
The Monday poll is just the latest example of the Democrat narrative around the LA riots being destroyed. RedState’s Nick Arama recently pointed out that Americans overwhelmingly supported Trump’s response to the riot by calling in the National Guard.
Fifty-nine percent of American likely voters approved of Trump’s deployment of the National Guard, 39 percent disapproved, and 2 percent were undecided. Digging into the numbers, 89 percent of Republicans, 56 percent of independents, and even 37 percent of Democrats approved. When you have that many Democrats agreeing with Republicans and Independents, the Democrats may have a problem.
People are looking at the violence and the politicians. They’re seeing the locals fail to handle things. Then you have Trump saying, “I’m going to help stop it with the National Guard.” Meanwhile, all the Democrats are doing is yelling at Trump.
These numbers back what CNN’s data guru Harry Enten has also been telling liberals, which is that Americans support Trump’s immigration policies, RedState reported.
Enten showed three different polls as to who the American people trusted more on immigration. CBS and CNN both had GOP +6, and Ipsos had +19, even more. No matter what poll, no matter which way you cut it, Enten concluded, the American public is with Donald Trump on immigration and the specifics.
Looks like the Democrats and liberals will have to try another tactic.
