Adam Schiff Wants to ‘Unpack’ the Supreme Court by… Packing the Supreme Court

Before we get to Schiff, let’s first revisit the workings of the left-wing mind. When Democrat politicians can’t win by existing rules, their first inclination is to cheat. When cheating doesn’t work, Democrats then try to change the rules, with two significant examples being voting and election laws and the Supreme Court.

The 2016 presidential election was a perfect example of the first. After Hillary Clinton won the popular vote but lost the Electoral College vote, making Donald Trump the 45th president of the United States, Hillary and the Democrats howled at the moon about eliminating the “archaic” Electoral College and electing presidents by popular vote only.

Needless to say, if Trump had won the popular vote and Hillary the EC vote, the Democrats would’ve fiercely defended the Electoral College as a critical necessity of election fairness. Likewise, Democrats have worked feverishly to change voting laws, they say, to make it easier for all Americans to vote, when what they really want is to make it easier to cheat.

In the case of the Supreme Court, Democrats continue to seethe over Donald Trump’s nomination of three conservative associate justices now on the bench — Brett Kavanaugh, Amy Coney Barrett, and Neil Gorsuch — giving the conservatives a 6-3 majority (in theory, that is, given John Roberts’ propensity to vote with the liberal justices on a somewhat regular basis.)

Histrionic Democrat lawmakers like, oh, California Democrat serial fabulist Rep. Adam Schiff absurdly declare that SCOTUS is therefore “packed” — historically defined as expanding the number of justices on the court, which was originally pushed by Democrat President Franklin Roosevelt, who wanted to add justices who would support his New Deal policies in the 1930s. FDR failed in his effort: The number of justices has remained at nine since 1869.

Adding justices to SCOTUS today would be rewriting the rules for political gain, which would likely lead to both sides adding, say, 2-3 justices in a tit-for-tat move when either side regains the White House and a Senate majority, which brings us back to Adam Schiff.

Schiff is bizarrely calling to “unpack” the Supreme Court by adding more justices to the nine-member bench.

Expanding the size of the Supreme Court isn’t extreme or unprecedented — but the opinions of this Court certainly are.

Uh-huh, and Trump colluded with Russia, and Hunter Biden’s laptop was a Russian plot. Please tell us more.

Translation: “I don’t agree with the decisions of this court, so I want to change the rules and add more leftists like Ketanji Brown Jackson to the bench so the majority will vote the way I want them to vote.”

Shameless Schiff being shameless Schiff, he’s exploiting his disdain for the high court to raise funds for his 2024 senate race.

In the US Senate, I’ll keep up the fight to expand, reform, and unpack the Supreme Court. If you’re with me, join us:

“Democracy matters” to truth-challenged Adam Schiff, gang. How comedic.

Schiff went on to explain that his plan to “unpack” the court contains three changes, tweeting:

When I say we have to unpack the court, that means three things:

– Expand the number of justices on the court
– Institute term limits
– Enact a code of ethics, just like every other federal court

I’m proud to be sponsoring legislation in Congress to do this.

Adam Schiff, of all people, calls for a code of ethics. That’s Dave Chappelle-quality comedy right there.

I’ll close this one out by dropping in a few related RedState articles for your reading pleasure.
