In the wake of Joe Biden’s epically Terrible, Horrible, No Good, Very Bad debate performance against Donald Trump on June 27, it appears that his fundraising spigot has abruptly shut down.

Like it or not, money plays a huge part in who wins and who loses in America’s political campaigns, and President Joe is suddenly in huge trouble on that front.

It’s dire:

Sources close to the President Biden re-election campaign say there has been a major slowdown in donations as a result of Biden’s poor debate performance two weeks ago, according to reports.
NBC reported one of the sources said the hit has already been “disastrous,” while another source said “the money has absolutely shut off.”

As calls for the president to walk away from his foundering reelection campaign continue to reach a fever pitch, many Dem bigwigs are simply shutting their wallets.

Donations have fallen by almost half, according to NBC News:

Two of the sources said this month is on a path to be down by possibly half — “or much more,” one of them said — from large donors alone. Sources emphasized that the donations were down across the board.
“Donors are negative. They had a call with the president. The call seemed so contrived to people; I don’t think they buy it,” one of the people close to the campaign said, referring to a recent national fundraising call between Biden and donors. “They called on people who were the most loyal, die-hard … There were no tough questions for the president.”

We’ve been witnessing the rats jumping ship in real-time. Somehow Biden’s disaster debate performance woke many donors up, even though we’ve been reporting on his condition at RedState for years, and anybody who had a functioning brain could see it.

It’s kind of disgusting to watch, actually: although I have no love for Joe Biden or what he’s done to this country, it’s still nauseating to see the very people who propped him up for so long turn on him like starving jackals. Now they‘re apparently doing the most damaging thing of all to his prospects—withholding their money.

Many of them won’t be coming back, it seems:

Some of Biden’s top fundraisers won’t reach out to their lucrative networks because they’re not convinced Biden will be the nominee heading into the convention, despite his saying he’s staying in the race, according to one of Biden’s bundlers.
“You can’t reach out to someone, because someone could say, ‘Geez, I didn’t know, he has dementia,’” said a top bundler. “Right now, it’s like someone asks, ‘You want to go see a movie?’ And in this case I’m saying, ‘I don’t know what f—ing movie is playing.'”

While Op-Eds and emotion-filled statements by Democrat leaders are certainly hurting the president’s cause, in the end, it’s the money that matters.

And that money is drying up—fast. It’s been a long time coming.
