Elizabeth Warren, best known for impersonating a Native American to gain favorable treatment at Harvard, is big mad at the White House. What’s she ranting about this time? President Donald Trump had the audacity, the absolute gall, even, to collect on taxpayer-backed student loans that people voluntarily took out.
According to the far left, the imbecile who took out a $100,000 loan to pay for a useless liberal arts degree shouldn’t be on the hook. Instead, you should be on the hook. Sure, you paid your way through college, and you’ve got bills of your own to worry about, but if you aren’t willing to shell out money for someone else’s bad decisions, do you even have a heart?

Only in a Democrat’s world could collecting on an agreed-upon contract be seen as “punishment.” Likewise, I’m not sure what any of this has to do with your grandma’s social security check. Perhaps she gets paid by the buzzword.
Do you want to know my biggest issue with this, though? Elizabeth Warren and people like her are the ones who caused the student loan crisis. I’ve been preaching against the current system for years, noting that we should not be loaning money to people without a credible reason, and a gender studies degree is not a credible reason. An analysis should be done on every student loan to determine the probability that it can be paid back, including whether the chosen major makes any sense whatsoever in the projected job market. Instead, we’ve got a system that guarantees student loans to whoever wants them while taxpayers are left on the hook when many inevitably default.
Here’s the thing. The fact that anyone can get a student loan makes them inherently predatory. Kids fresh out of high school are suckered into signing their lives away because they must go to college. Meanwhile, people like Warren encourage them to take up majors that aren’t lucrative and have a high chance of leaving them under a mountain of compounding interest.
Blaming Donald Trump for that is idiotic. If Warren wants to scream at someone, she should look in the mirror. She should also look at her buddies in academia who have taken the student loan scam and used it to enrich themselves while continually raising prices to fund their bloated administrations. The people who have taken out student loans owe that money. We should not burden all Americans, including hundreds of millions in the working class, with paying money back that they didn’t borrow.
