EPA Chief Lee Zeldin Describes a Big, Beautiful Win for Taxpayers

Now, this is a win for the taxpayers. During Tuesday’s publicized Trump administration cabinet meeting, EPA Administrator Lee Zeldin had some good news to share on how the One Big, Beautiful Bill is delivering some big, beautiful reductions in wasteful “green” spending, and you’ll see a familiar name mentioned.

At the Trump EPA, the one big beautiful bill was filled with many big beautiful wins for the taxpayer. It delivered a sledgehammer to the Green New Scam. Billions of dollars rescinded.

So it’s a big deal for the American taxpayer who sees money go through pass-throughs that are filled with self-dealing and conflicts of interest. They see unqualified recipients. They see reduced agency oversight, and they want accountability with their tax dollars, and they got it.

These grants to non-governmental organizations (NGO) have always had a distinct odor to them, like a dead carp that’s been lying in the cornfield for a week in June. It strikes us as a way to launder federal money for purposes far from what the grant applications claim they were doing, and Mr. Zeldin isn’t shy about giving us some specific cases of what looks like just that:

So in the example of the Stacey Abrams Connected NGO, they received $100 in 2023. They got $2 billion in 2024. They had to complete training on how to develop a budget that was put into their grant agreement.

They out of nowhere started paying a CEO $800,000, a COO $450,000, 22 people making over $150,000. Out of nowhere, this is tax dollars. So money goes through pass-throughs, through other pass-throughs, through other pass-throughs, and we lose oversight over it.

And you see that it’s going to former Biden officials, it’s going to former Obama officials, it’s going to Democratic donors. And we’re not here saying we want to take money from a left-wing NGO and give it to a right-wing NGO. We want to give it back to the taxpayer.

There’s that familiar name, Stacey Abrams, who still hasn’t admitted that she is not, in fact, the governor of Georgia. It’s not abundantly clear what her “Connected” NGO does, or why they need $2 billion in taxpayer money to do it, but they aren’t getting it anymore.

And look at those salaries! Holy cow! An $800,000 annual salary for a CEO, $450,000 for a COO, and 22 people making over $150,000? To do what? Apparently, to give lucrative pass-through salaries to former Obama officials and Democrat donors.

This is the problem with this entire system. Not one thin dime should have gone to this debacle, much less $100 in 2023, then $2,000,000,000 in 2024. For what? How did it not occur to even one person in this approval process to look at the history of this grant and say, “Hang on, does this seem right?” And this is also why the Trump administration should take a good, hard look at every person involved with reviewing and approving this grant (after firing them), and what other grant applications they’ve approved. I’m willing to bet we’ll find billions more in graft money that could be yanked back and returned to the taxpayers.

DOGE is finding billions of dollars in wasteful spending, and the Democrats are losing their minds as they realize their gravy train and woke projects are coming to an end.
