Though he doesn’t get the same amount of attention as some of the more vocal GOP members of Congress, Rep. Brandon Gill (R-TX) has nevertheless been making a name for himself since taking office, most recently by destroying USA Fencing Chairman Damien Lehfeldt during a Congressional hearing over his “record of smearing parents who dare to oppose men in their daughters’ sports.”

Gill has also been loud about the need to defund NPR and PBS once and for all, further exposing their liberal bias during a House Subcommittee on Government Efficiency hearing and on the cable news networks, including hostile ones like CNN.

The United States is spending “over $500 million every single year to fund state-sponsored media like NPR and PBS to promote left-wing values that are utterly antithetical to the American experience,” Gill told CNN anchor Paula Brown back in February in a contentious exchange.

Gill, who serves on the House Committee on the Budget, shared a video on social media Friday from the committee’s “Fiscal State of the Nation” hearing that was held Wednesday. In it, the freshman Congressman remarked that he found it fascinating that some Democrats on the committee were suddenly interested in lecturing about “fiscal discipline” despite their well-known penchant for wanting to blow billions in taxpayer dollars on their pet projects, both foreign and domestic:

Democrats have never seen a foreign country they don’t want to shower with American tax dollars.
They’ve never seen an illegal alien they don’t want to give amnesty and welfare to.
They’ve never found a left wing organization they don’t want to launder our tax dollars to.
It’s rich to now hear them talk about “fiscal discipline.”

Watch:

Inexplicably, this video prompted Rep. Eric “Chinese Honey Trap” Swalwell (D-CA) to chime in even though he is not on the committee, referring to Gill as “Rep D’Souza” because he’s the son-in-law of conservative commentator/filmmaker Dinesh D’Souza:

Maybe Swalwell would have seen Gill around the halls of Congress more had he actually been there:

A fair point, for sure.

Don’t go away mad, Eric Swalwell. Just go away.
