The Tapper-Thompson revisionist tour continues as they are selling their book “Original Sin.” This attempted rewriting of recent history has instead been negatively exposing the press, as the so-called revelations about Biden’s condition and the behavior of his administration were apparent, and the end result is that the press avoided reality.
For the latest example, the author Tapper sat in on a vid-cast with Chuck Todd, himself a journo whose sloth and protectionism have been a regular feature on his show. Recall that it was last summer when he and Jonathan Martin admitted to knowing for a long time that Biden was slipping mentally and his own cabinet members were rarely in touch with their leader.
For the latest example of reassessing the past, the two pseudo-journalists began exploring the concept of Joe Biden as the consummate family man. Jake stated that he spoke with someone very close to the Biden clan (anonymously, naturally) who let it be known that many of the myths about Biden’s familial excellence were manufactured.
The capper is Chuck Todd closing out this clip by asking, “Were we sold a 40-year bill of goods?” Allow me to offer Chuck a light correction: It was YOU who sold that bill of goods. The press were the very ones who crafted and sold this persona to the public, as if it were a character synopsis from a Broadway copy of Playbill. Biden was “the decent man,” who would be a tonic to the toxic nature of his predecessor, and much of that was how dedicated he was to his family. Most of the time, the press covered for Biden’s foibles by trotting out excuses, such as mourning the death of his son Beau, or being deeply tortured by the addictions Hunter had to contend with and the public scorn he endured.
Now they admit this was all a ruse? The reason this is so disturbing to listen to is that we all knew of this for years. It was the likes of Tapper and Todd who lashed out at those who pointed out what was evident. We knew full well this image of a doting and devoted patriarch was a political mask. What we are seeing now is two men in an industry no longer capable of delivering plausible deniability.

We watched as Biden would invoke the death of his son continuously in his speeches and rare press conferences, using it as a political ploy for his agenda. We watched as Hunter’s criminalities were reduced to the acts of a man helpless while in the grips of illicit drugs, and shame on anyone politicizing addiction. We asked repeatedly why the family continuously denied having one of their grandchildren, because Hunter’s bastard child was negatively impactful on Joe’s image.
Small credit to Todd, though, for noting an adverse to one of the Biden aphorisms. It was long said he was so devoted that he took a train home every day to Delaware, as family was his focus. But Chuck stated there was the other side, how when his family was in the midst of struggles, he would commute back to D.C., because politics was that important to him.
As with any of the grand revelations that have come to light in the past weeks with the release of Tapper’s book, these are not so much new doses of information as they are old items with new admissions from the press. This latest is their willingness to acknowledge that the long-held beliefs about Biden were, in fact, scripted character notes for the benefit of the press.
That Todd and Tapper had long been willing to sell these claims makes their bold proclamations today ring hollow. It is impossible to sell something as a discovery when you are the last ones to point out what has already been established.
