Jill Biden, First Lady, was really stupid when she compared Latinos to tacos. We previously reported that she made a mistake not once but twice, first by saying the Latin community is “as distinct as the bogidas (sic) of the Bronx, as beautiful as the blossoms of Miami, and as unique as the breakfast tacos here in San Antonio.”
Does a ‘Latinx’ go to ‘bogidas’? because Hispanics go to bodegas https://t.co/fJsS8sF7Hl

Now she apologizes for her comment. Or at least, that’s what her press officer says.
Micahel LaRosa tweeted Tuesday morning, saying that Biden had apologized if her words were anything other than pure admiration and love of the Latino community.

There are some oddities.
Secondly, why didn’t the First Lady speak about it?
This was an apology she could have sent to a reporter nearby, but she instead relegates it to a tweet from one of her subordinates. It doesn’t convey regret but annoyance, or cowardice. It’s not much of an excuse.
This is an excellent opportunity to play “What if it were a Republican”! This would be a blatant example of racism if it were said by someone other than the Democrat Party. You can bet that a Republican would have compared the Latino community with tacos and would be blaming every worker for using the terms “racism” or xenophobia.
Jill Biden’s comment was racism? No. No. It’s not her fault for not delivering the apology, but it is a clear indication that she doesn’t care as much about respecting those she claims to love.
