Two Secret Service officers have been suspended for a bizarre brawl outside former President Barack Obama’s house that went down at around 2:30 a.m. Wednesday. The agency issued a terse statement:
The individuals involved were suspended from duty and this matter is the subject of an internal investigation. The Secret Service has a very strict code of conduct for all employees and any behavior that violates that code is unacceptable. Given this is a personnel matter, we are not in a position to comment further.
RealClearPolitics has obtained video and audio recordings of the fight, and let’s just say it’s not a good look for the agency.
Warning: profanity.
The tapes reveal that one of the officers called a supervisor and said they better come before “I whoop this girl’s a**.” Video shows the two scuffling:
The smackdown occurred outside Obama’s Washington, DC, home about two miles northwest of the White House.
RealClearPolitics reporter Susan Crabtree wrote in the above tweet:
The lack of professionalism was on display during the fight and in a call one of the women made on a recorded Secret Service line to request a supervisor to come to the scene “immediately before I whoop this girl’s a**.” The woman officer who made the call was upset that her shift replacement was late and assailed her verbally and physically when she finally did arrive to relieve her. Audio of the early a.m. call is now circulating among agents and officers and is attached to this X post.
The incident is causing concern that diversity, equity and inclusion (DEI) has infected the agency as focus shifted from their core mission during the Biden administration and under former USSS Director Kimberly Cheatle, who resigned after the oh-so-close July assassination attempt on then-candidate Trump.

This latest incident has some agents so concerned that they are reportedly circulating a petition demanding reform:
From the above tweet:
Here is some of the text of the most recent petition: “Government-wide DEI policies being pushed by Agency heads to further the Obama and Biden administrations’ radical agenda are to blame for the lowered standards at Secret Service and the tragic events of J13”, critics decried.
It’s not the first time we’ve seen bad conduct from some agents:
This is just the latest alleged incident of bad behavior in the Secret Service’s uniform ranks. Michelle Herczeg, who was assigned to protect then-Vice President Kamala Harris, was accused of attacking a supervisor in April 2024 after he relieved her of duties when he allegedly began throwing sanitary pads and screaming at coworkers, according to reports.
Obviously, this type of unprofessional behavior cannot be tolerated in an organization whose main mission is to protect our leaders (whether we like a particular one or not). I expect Trump’s pick for Secret Service Director, Sean Curran, who famously shielded Trump after the Butler assassination attempt, won’t tolerate this kind of bullstuff.
