In a show of solidarity and support today, Vice President JD Vance, Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth and White House Deputy Chief of Staff Stephen Miller personally visited our National Guard troops in D.C. The men brought hamburgers to the guardsmen to lift their spirits and remind them of just how important their work in securing the capital is to the American people. Vance quickly highlighted how the gesture pales in comparison to what they truly deserve: 

We wanted to bring you guys some burgers. We appreciate everything that you’re doing. So, you know, you guys bust your ass all day, and we give you a hamburger. Not a fair trade, but we’re grateful for everything you guys do. 

Since President Trump sent the National Guard into the District, ridiculous protests have been ongoing. The presence of the guardsmen has already dropped crime throughout the city, with robberies and carjackings declining significantly. One can only assume that the liberal protestors would rather have homeless encampments and drugs in the street? Seems like a losing issue, but it’s hard when many on the left make their living by becoming paid protestors. 

VP Vance had a special message for the protesters, specifically:

It’s bizarre that we have a bunch of old, primarily white people out there protesting the policies that keep people safe when they’ve never felt danger in their entire lives.

Not to be outdone, White House Deputy Chief of Staff and Homeland Security Advisor Stephen Miller went scorched earth on the protestors: 

The voices that you hear out there, those crazy communists, they have no roots, no connection to this city, no families they’re raising here. They have no jobs in this city. But they’re the ones advocating for the 1% — the criminals, the killers, the rapists, the drug dealers…We’re gonna ignore these stupid white hippies. They all need to go home and take a nap, because they’re all over 90 years old. And we’re gonna get back in the business of protecting the American people and the citizens of Washington, D.C.

Tulsi Gabbard has announced plans to reduce the Office of the Director of National Intelligence (ODNI) staff by nearly half. The move will result in annual savings exceeding $700 million.

Gabbard, in a statement released Wednesday, notes that the ODNI’s initial mission was established in the wake of the 9/11 terrorist attacks and was designed to integrate information across the intelligence communities into a “timely, accurate, and apolitical” intelligence report to be used by the President and lawmakers.

They have failed in that regard.

“Over the last 20 years, ODNI has become bloated and inefficient, and the intelligence community is rife with abuse of power, unauthorized leaks of classified intelligence, and politicized weaponization of intelligence,” Gabbard stated. 

“ODNI and the IC must make serious changes to fulfill its responsibility to the American people and the U.S. Constitution by focusing on our core mission: find the truth and provide objective, unbiased, timely intelligence to the President and policymakers.”

She added, “Ending the weaponization of intelligence and holding bad actors accountable are essential to begin to earn the American people’s trust, which has long been eroded.”

A fact sheet provided by the Director of National Intelligence’s office notes that they have already reduced the ODNI by 30 percent, removing over 500 staffers from the books since Gabbard took the helm.

One of the primary targets of the restructuring at the ODNI is the Foreign Malign Influence Center (FMIC), which was found to have coordinated with social media giants to help censor the Hunter Biden laptop story and influence the 2020 presidential election.

“ODNI uncovered evidence of a multi-year relationship between FMIC and social media companies that was not based on scientific or objective metrics and may have been used to weaponize intelligence against Americans, undermining civil liberties,” the fact sheet explains.

They report that the FMIC, in its earlier incarnation as the Election Threats Executive, worked with Twitter, Facebook, and Google to interfere in the election by squashing a significant story that would have been detrimental to Joe Biden’s campaign “all under the guise of combating foreign influence activities.”

The intelligence community engaged in a widespread, coordinated effort to peddle the very real Hunter Biden laptop as a figment of Russian disinformation imagination.

While the media will no doubt Jedi mind trick their viewers into believing that this is an effort to eliminate groups monitoring foreign interference in our elections, it is, in reality, a commonsense purge of a department that itself engaged in election interference.

It’s also eliminating redundancy, as the fact sheet notes that “elements within the National Intelligence Council and National Counterintelligence and Security Center already monitor efforts by foreign entities to influence the American public.”

Therefore, no, the Trump administration is not wantonly slashing efforts to monitor foreign influence on elections.

“ODNI 2.0” comes just 24 hours after Gabbard announced she was ripping security clearances of 37 current and former officials within the intelligence community, reportedly involved in the Russia collusion hoax.

“Being entrusted with a security clearance is a privilege, not a right,” she said in a statement announcing the move. “Those in the Intelligence Community who betray their oath to the Constitution and put their own interests ahead of the interests of the American people have broken the sacred trust they promised to uphold.”

“In doing so, they undermine our national security, the safety and security of the American people, and the foundational principles of our democratic republic.”

Earlier this year, Gabbard announced that security clearances of 51 intelligence officers who signed a letter portraying Hunter Biden’s laptop as ‘Russian disinformation’ had officially been revoked.

For too long, the intel community has brazenly lied to the American people and helped boost Democrat causes by interfering in elections. That is going to end under Gabbard’s tenure.

Two Palestinian terrorists who were released by Israel during temporary ceasefires with Hamas are set to address a pro-Palestinian conference in Detroit, Michigan, in late August, according to the Jerusalem Post.

The Post reported Tuesday:

Two Palestinian terrorists are set to speak at the Detroit People’s Conference for Palestine at the end of August, including a Tanzim operative who was released in February in return for hostages held by Hamas and a former Democratic Front for the Liberation of Palestine (DFLP) official.

Once a leader and international coordinator for Fatah’s youth movement, [Hussam] Shaheen later became involved in the factions’ military wings. In the book The Rise and Fall of Arab Jerusalem: Palestinian Politics and the City since 1967, it was detailed how Shaheen established an al-Aqsa Martyrs’ Brigade cell in Jebl Mukaber and procured firearms for an aborted 2001 attack.

Another speaker at the Detroit conference is Omar Assaf, who, according to Haaretz and Al Araby, was an official in the DFLP terrorist organization. An Omar Assaf is listed by the PLO website as one of the founders of the Marxist faction. Assaf is now the coordinator of the executive committees of the Palestinian Popular Conference, which seeks to reform the PLO into, among other things, a more radical militant organization.

A campaign on behalf of Shaheen refers to him as a “political prisoner.”

Pro-Palestinian conferences have a history of celebrating terrorists. In 2017, terrorist Rasmea Odeh received a standing ovation at a conference in Chicago. She was later deported for lying to immigration officials.

A post-October 7 rally in the Detroit suburb of Dearborn saw an Arab speaker who simply used the word “peace” heckled mercilessly by the audience even though he was just as anti-Israel as anyone else on the stage.

Department of Homeland Security (DHS) officials are blaming Gov. Gavin Newsom (D) and his continued support for sanctuary policies after an illegal alien trucker, who was given a driver’s license in California, was charged with making an illegal U-turn that killed three Americans this month,

As Breitbart News reported, Harjinder Singh, an illegal alien from India, was driving a semi truck in St. Lucie County, Florida, when he made an illegal U-turn that ultimately left three Americans dead.

Singh has since been arrested and charged with three counts of vehicular homicide.

Video footage posted online of the fatal crash shows Singh making the U-turn and having no reaction once the vehicle with the three passengers hits the semi truck.

In the sanctuary state of California, Singh was able to obtain a Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) despite being an illegal alien thanks to a law passed in 2013 and expanded by Newsom in 2022.

By 2023, as Breitbart News detailed, California officials had issued driver’s licenses to more than a million illegal aliens since 2015.

DHS spokeswoman Tricia McLaughlin blamed Newsom for supporting the state’s sanctuary policies that ultimately led to Singh getting a driver’s license and allegedly killing three Americans in Florida.

“Three innocent people were killed in Florida because Gavin Newsom’s California Department of Motor Vehicles issued an illegal alien a Commercial Driver’s License — this state of governance is asinine,” McLaughlin said:

How many more innocent people must die before Gavin Newsom stops playing games with the safety of the American public? We pray for the victims and their families. Secretary Noem and DHS are working around the clock to protect the public and get these criminal illegal aliens out of America.
[Emphasis added]

Newsom’s office claimed that the Trump administration in 2018 is responsible for Singh securing a commercial driver’s license in California, but McLaughlin shot back to correct the record.

“Harjinder Singh is in the United States illegally and his work authorization was rejected under the Trump Administration on September 14, 2020,” McLaughlin wrote on X. “It was later approved under the Biden Administration June 9, 2021. The state of California issues Commercial Driver’s Licenses. There is no national [commercial driver’s license].”

Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) agents have issued a detainer on Singh to ensure he remains in custody pending the vehicular homicide charges against him.

French President Emmanuel Macron finally broke his silence about his defamation lawsuit against controversial media personality Candace Owens, who has repeatedly claimed that the First Lady of France, Brigitte Macron, is a man.

Speaking to French outlet Paris Match, Macron explained why he and his wife decided to take legal action against Owens following her numerous claims that Brigitte is actually a man named “Jean-Michel Trogneux.”

“This has become such a big issue in the United States that we had to respond,” Macron told the outlet in a piece published Tuesday, according to Politico. “It’s a question of having the truth respected.”

“[Owens] is someone who knew very well that she was spreading false information and did so with the aim of causing harm, in the service of an ideology and with established connections to far-right leaders,” he added, per the outlet.

Macron admitted that when Owens’ accusations first surfaced in France, they opted to ignore them so as not to have the opposite effect of drawing more attention to the claims by shutting them down. But he said that after the podcaster’s accusations spread in the United States, they had no other choice.

As my RedState colleague Streiff reported in July, Macron filed a defamation suit against the podcaster.

He wrote:

According to a 200-page complaint filed in a Delaware court, the Macrons object to Owens’s claim that Brigitte Macron “was born a man, stole another person’s identity, and transitioned to become Brigitte.” 

The report also noted that this wasn’t the first time the Macrons had to deal with the claims.

In 2021, the Macrons successfully sued two of France’s leading intellectuals, Amandine Roy, a 52-year-old clairvoyant, and Natacha Rey, 48, who styled herself as a freelance journalist, for making the claim that Brigitte Macron = (more or less) Jean-Michel Trogneux. Despite their victory in court, the Macrons have not been able to silence those seeking to speak truth, or something, to power. 

A spokesperson for Owens reacted to the suit by claiming it was a violation of her First Amendment rights. The person claimed it was a “foreign government attacking the First Amendment rights of an American independent journalist.”

But in the Paris Match interview, the French President objected to the claim and said that freedom of speech does not protect Owens from spreading false, harmful “nonsense.”

He added, “Those talking about so-called freedom of speech are the same ones banning reporters from the Oval Office.”

The last jab was clearly a reference to the White House’s decision earlier this year to block the Associated Press from the Oval Office and Air Force One due to how it was covering President Donald Trump’s Gulf of America name change.

The AP took President Donald Trump’s administration to court over it, and in June, Trump won a partial victory, as RedState reported. 

A federal appeals court panel on Friday reinstated parts of President Donald Trump’s ban of the Associated Press from several key areas where presidential press events are typically held, including the Oval Office, Air Force One and the President’s home in Mar-A-Lago.

The court left in place part of a lower-court order that required Trump to give AP access to events held in larger spaces, like the East Room.

Department of Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem has proven to be many things since she took on the job—tough, unafraid, and determined to help ensure her boss Donald Trump’s vision. I’m not sure anyone had talked about her talents as a painter, however.

But there she was Tuesday, painting the border wall like a pro. She’s covering it in a very specific color – or non-color, technically—at the request of the president. Trump wants to paint it black:

Why black? Well if you’ve ever worn a black shirt on a scorching day, or sat in a black car in the baking sun, you might know the answer:

Speaking in front of a portion of the southern border wall in Santa Teresa, New Mexico, Noem explained that the wall would be painted entirely black for the dual purposes of making it heat up more and thus harder to climb, as well as increasing the lifespan of the metal.


Noem said the new paintwork comes at the request of President Donald Trump.

Although the wall is already tall, she explained, painting it in this manner will make it even more difficult to pass:

“If you look at the structure that’s behind me, it’s tall, which makes it very, very difficult to climb, almost impossible. It also goes deep into the ground, which would make it very difficult, if not impossible, to dig under. And today we are also going to be painting it black,” said Noem.

DHS Secretary Kristi Noem Reveals the Number of Illegal Aliens Who Have Self-Deported—and It’s Huge

Noem continued, saying that the operation was conceived by Trump, who as a contractor knows full well about things like paint:

“That is specifically at the request of the president, who understands that in the hot temperatures down here, when something is painted black, it gets even warmer, and it will make it even harder for people to climb,” she added.

“So, we are going to be painting the entire southern border wall black to make sure that we encourage individuals to not come into our country illegally, to not break our federal laws, but that they will abide and come to our country the right way so that they can stay and have the opportunity to become United States citizens and pursue the American dream.”

Newsmax will pay $67 million to settle a defamation lawsuit from Dominion Voting Systems after the news organization claimed the 2020 election was rigged.

Dominion Voting Systems had previously settled a defamation suit against Fox News for $787 million prior to settling with Newsmax; both cases stemmed from coverage pertaining to the 2020 election, per NPR (National Public Radio):

In the lawsuit, filed in the months after the 2020 election, Dominion accused the cable news network of spreading false claims that the company’s voting technology had been manipulated to help Joe Biden beat Donald Trump. Like other right-wing news networks, Newsmax featured Trump allies who promoted these conspiracies, including former Trump campaign lawyer Sidney Powell and supporter Mike Lindell of MyPillow.

Newsmax announced the settlement in an Aug. 15 filing with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission. According to the document, the network paid $27 million of the settlement on that day; the rest will be paid by January 2027.

In mid-April, Judge Eric M. Davis, who had presided over Dominion’s case against Fox News, ruled that all of the at-issue statements that aired on Newsmax were also false and defamatory. His ruling meant that, should the case have gone to trial, the jury would only have had to decide whether Newsmax acted with “actual malice,” whether Dominion should receive damages, and how much money it should get.

Leading up to the settlement, Dominion Voting Systems claimed that the charges of election rigging caused the company irreparable harm, complete with death threats against employees and lost revenue.

“We are pleased to have settled this matter,” a Dominion spokesperson said Monday morning.

Newsmax did not admit to any wrongdoing in a statement, claiming that its coverage of the 2020 election was “fair, balanced, and conducted within professional standards of journalism.”

“Newsmax believed it was critically important for the American people to hear both sides of the election disputes that arose in 2020,” it said, adding that Judge Davis ruled in a way that “strongly favored the plaintiffs and limited Newsmax’s ability to defend itself.”

The state of Washington is looking pretty dangerous, according to the latest statistics. 

FBI crime data shows that violent crime skyrocketed past the national trend, especially in categories like aggravated assault, by eight percent for 2019 through 2024. What’s worse is that the state’s murder rate surged upward even more by an unforgivable 42.46 percent. 

What makes this even worse is that the national average on murder rates dropped over three percent while violent crime fell over six percent. 

While the nation did see an average increase of just 2.14 percent over those years, Washington’s increase was over 19 percent. 

What’s the deal?

As The Post Millennial reported, Washington State also comes dead last in terms of police presence: 

This comes as Washington State has been ranked last out of all 50 states and Washingon, DC for police staffing per capita for the 15th year in a row, according to a FBI data analyzed by the Washington Association of Sheriffs & Police Chiefs (WASPC).

As reported by Seattle Red, Washington’s lack of police presence is something of a crisis that’s left police in the state up against frightening odds: 

Statewide, agencies added 292 commissioned officers in 2024, lifting the rate from 1.34 to 1.36 officers per 1,000 residents. But that small improvement hasn’t shifted Washington from its longstanding position as the least-staffed state, an embarrassing ranking it has held for at least 15 years thanks to poor Democratic leadership.

Indeed, when you’re a handful of people looking after large populations, there are not enough peacekeepers and law enforcers to catch a great deal of crime. Moreover, those that are present are running from call to call, becoming exhausted, which not only puts officers in danger, but also the people they’re either trying to help or arrest.

According to Axios, the Washington Association of Sheriffs & Police Chiefs (WASPC) says that for Washington to match the national average in terms of policing, it would need to spend somewhere north of $1 billion annually. 

It’s not hard to put two and two together. 

Washington has been a deep blue state that, back in 2020, showed massive support for defunding the police. In 2021, Washington Democrat Governor Jay Inslee signed sweeping police reforms that limited law enforcement officers while calling it a “moral mandate.” The changes tied the hands of law enforcement officials behind their backs and handed responsibilities for some police actions to other departments, such as first responders. 

“It’s going to change the level of service we give to our citizens,” said Moses Lake Police Chief Kevin Fuhr at the time. “Not because we want to, but because we have to.”

Now you can see the outcome of these policies that “reimagine” or defund policing. The “moral mandate” has resulted in some very immoral things happening to innocent people, and at a rate that far surpasses that of other states, where these foolish decisions never occurred. 

Not to wheel out an old cliche, but this is exactly what Washington voted for, and it’s a great example to all the others of how not to police a state. 

President Donald Trump is doing what he can to end the war between Ukraine and Russia. 

On Monday, Trump had Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky and European leaders to the White House after having met with Russian President Vladimir Putin on Friday. Trump is working toward a trilateral meeting including himself, Putin, and Zelensky.  

Italian leader Giorgia Meloni praised Trump for pushing things to this point, after Russia hadn’t moved in three years on the war. “Something is changing — something has changed, thanks to you,” Meloni said.

Stop the Killing’: Trump, European Leaders Discuss Ending Russia-Ukraine War at White House

At the end of the meeting, Trump said to the press that all they asked for was “fairness from the media.” 

There was a moment of humor immediately after that, when the press was throwing out questions and being typically loud. Leaders Meloni and Finland’s President Alexander Stubb were caught on a hot mic expressing admiration for what Trump had to go through with the press and how he handled them. 

“Thank you for being so fair,” Meloni said, while seemingly making a face about the reporters. 

“You go through this every day?” Stubb asked, as though he couldn’t believe it. Stubb has been the president of Finland for about a year and a half. 

Trump nodded and said, “All the time.” 

“But he loves it,” Meloni said. “He loves it! He does it always.” 

She then admitted, “I never want to speak with my press!” 

Trump praised Stubb to Meloni,  “He’s a great golfer, you know.” Trump and Stubb have played golf in the past. 

Giorgia Meloni is hilarious. She has a great sense of humor. You can see that she has a deft way of dealing with other leaders. Stubb probably doesn’t have to go through the incredible crush of press that Trump does, from what it sounds like. So it’s giving the European leaders another level of appreciation for Trump and what he has to go through with our press, which is good. 

Trump sounded positive about the prospects after the meeting. He revealed that they had discussed security guarantees, which he said would be provided by the European countries. Trump said that the next step was for Zelensky to meet with Putin, followed by the trilateral meeting.

Hopefully, they will be able to get it done – that would be a huge achievement. But this is what leadership looks like, after four years of a complete mess. Now we finally have competence and action at work.

CNN is not too happy that Democrats who sought to weaponize the government against President Donald Trump might face accountability.

The alleged news outlet published a report taking Trump to task for supposedly using the FBI and Justice Department against Sen. Adam Schiff (D-CA) and New York Attorney General Letitia James.

During Trump’s first term, then-Rep. Adam Schiff was on the forefront of the Russiagate hoax as well as the first doomed effort to impeach him. Back in those days, Schiff was a regular on cable news networks, constantly claiming to have decisive evidence that the Trump campaign colluded with the Russian government to influence the outcome of the 2016 election.

He never provided the evidence. Because there was no evidence. As with most politicians, Schiff brazenly lied to the American public and got away with it.

Schiff also played a critical role in the Democratic House Subcommittee on Jan.6, which was nothing more than a politically motivated effort to con the nation into believing that Trump had incited the riot at the US Capitol building.

“Now, with Trump back in the White House and Schiff in the Senate, the president is using the full force of the federal government to try to turn the tables on his longtime nemesis,” CNN politics reporter Jeremy Herb wrote.

Confession: I really want to make a marijuana joke using Jeremy’s last name, but I am resisting the temptation.

Anyway, the article notes that FBI Director Kash Patel released internal documentation showing that Schiff approved illegal leaks of classified information regarding the Russia hoax. He further pointed to the fact that Schiff is now under federal investigation for mortgage fraud.

The attacks on Schiff are the latest example of how Trump and his government have carried out a campaign of retribution against a wide swath of the president’s perceived political enemies, ranging from former Trump officials to members of Congress to the prosecutors who brought cases against Trump while he was out of office.

CNN reported this month that the Justice Department opened a grand jury investigation into New York Attorney General Letitia James over the civil actions she brought against Trump and the National Rifle Association. That came after the Trump administration launched an investigation into allegations of mortgage fraud against James, similar to those leveled against Schiff. (James’ attorney said they were “baseless and long-discredited allegations.”) Trump has called for James to be prosecuted for years, too.

The Federal Housing Finance Agency (FHFA) sent a criminal referral to the Justice Department in May, alleging that Schiff misrepresented his primary residence in multiple mortgage applications. Between 2003 and 2019, the lawmaker listed his home in Potomac, Maryland, as his principal residence on refinancing applications — even though he currently holds office in California. The complaint alleges that this enabled him to obtain more favorable loan terms and a $7,000 tax break in the Golden State.

The investigation centers on multiple alleged violations, including wire fraud, bank fraud, mail fraud, and making false statements to financial institutions.

So far, it’s not clear whether Schiff committed mortgage fraud or other crimes. But if there is smoke, investigators must find out if there is fire. If Trump had engaged in any of these actions, CNN would certainly support a Democratic administration looking into it. In fact, the outlet had no unkind words to say about the myriad of politically motivated legal actions against Trump during the 2024 campaign.

Even though it was clear that Democrats were trying to influence the outcome of the election by throwing as many criminal prosecution efforts at him as possible, CNN never so much as questioned them, which is one of a billion reasons why Americans do not trust legacy media.
