Democrats really don’t know what to do at this point.
President Donald Trump has come in with what’s like a “shock and awe” campaign, hitting so many things at the same time to change all the bad that Joe Biden and the Democrats did that the Democrats can’t even keep up. Trump had four years to think about it and organize, so he’s hit the ground running.
So far, the Democrats haven’t been able to do much, with the Trump team on fire. The new administration has made major changes already in securing the border, for example, with the numbers dropping to incredibly low numbers, according to people like Fox’s Bill Melugin.
I’ve never seen anything this low in all of my border coverage. The numbers were already flat/low in Biden’s final week, bouncing between 1,200-1,400 illegal crossings daily, but the numbers have been falling off a cliff since Trump took office.
Just think, unlike what Biden claimed, you didn’t need a new bill, all you needed was the will to enforce the law. That’s what you get with just one week under Trump.
Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer (D-NY) was asked by a reporter about the Democrats’ response to Trump actions in New York. It wasn’t clear what particular actions he was referencing. But Schumer’s response had people’s eyebrows going up.
“The roots of democracy are deep,” he said, telling people they should contact their local representative or senator to get to the president. “People are aroused. I haven’t seen people so aroused in a very, very long time…I think democracy will have an effect…We are going to keep at it.”
Um, what? What exactly is Schumer talking about here? And he’s going to “keep at it” — does he have any idea what he’s saying?
He seems to have had issues with this kind of thing in the past.
And frankly, if you look at the Democrats around Schumer and even the senator himself, they all look listless and sad, which is sort of the opposite of “aroused.” Sen. Patty Murray (D-WA) looks like she wants out of there.
Even folks on the left seemed to be bemoaning old Chuck not realizing the implications of his words.
It shouldn’t. But then why did Democrats in power and many in liberal media try to buffalo us over Joe Biden’s competence or lack thereof for so long? It seems like it’s a feature, not a bug, and that’s why they’ve been voted out of office. People are tired of this; they voted for a big change, and Trump is bringing it in spades.
It was clear that Nancy Pelosi had a boner for Trump.
