CNN’s conservative political analyst Scott Jennings created a bit of a stir this Christmas Eve, responding rather succinctly to why the Democrat party suffered a thrashing defeat in the elections and causing the panel to end in chaotic fashion.
And God love him for it.
The debate got a little wild when “CNN News Central” co-host Kate Bolduan offered Democratic strategist Maria Cardona an opportunity to respond to figures in her party openly criticizing messaging from their leaders.
That includes Sen. Joe Manchin (I-WV), who referred to the party as “toxic,” and Democratic communications strategist Lis Smith, who believes “the Democratic brand is in the toilet.”

Cardona gave a rambling response in which she tried to convince herself that President-elect Donald Trump hadn’t won the election by much. There was no sweeping mandate and he just barely squeaked by Kamala Harris.
In fact, she went whistling through the graveyard with this assessment.
“We certainly have work to do, but there‘s no question that the Democrats still stand for making sure that everyone has the ability to acquire the American dream,” she said of the party that spent the last four years decimating the American dream.
When the nearly five-minute segment had concluded, Bolduan said Jennings would have a chance to respond … next time around.
Well, he wasn’t thrilled about that, complaining about being filibustered out of a response, and eventually prompted Bolduan to give him an extra 30 seconds.
As per usual, he knocked it out of the park.
“It took Maria five minutes. Here‘s 10 seconds,” Jennings fired back. “Democrats are the party of uncommon nonsense. Republicans are the party of common sense. It‘s why our tent right now is full of such a wide ideological spectrum. People are flocking to the Republicans because we stand for common sense. And Democrats have taken on all this uncommon fringe nonsense.”
“If they are in the toilet, my advice?” he added. “Flush away the fringe and the people who have drug you down there. Because this is why Republicans won the election.”
It was a succinct beatdown, yet thorough. Bolduan mouthed the words “oh geez” and had to look away. The exchange even caught the attention of Mama Musk.
Cardona could be seen off to the side, trying to interject as Jennings explained why the uncommon fringe – weird people, if you will – is basically leading the Democrat party.
After many a head shake and eye roll, she was able to get this shot in: “Wanting to invade Greenland and Panama, I don’t think that’s common sense.”
Bolduan, at this point, interjected with a threat to cut their mics and demanded the two “just zip it.”
It was all seemingly in good fun. At least the host was having a good laugh about the matter as she finally cut away after declaring her guests had “hijacked” the segment.
Speaking of the Greenland deal, Jennings also sent Cardona into a tailspin when he whole-heartedly supported Trump’s plan to acquire the autonomous territory of the Kingdom of Denmark.
“For purposes of National Security and Freedom throughout the World, the United States of America feels that the ownership and control of Greenland is an absolute necessity,” Trump recently declared in a Trust Social media post.
While many dismiss the idea as preposterous and possibly a case of Trump trolling the left, Jennings gave a full-throated defense of the move, calling it “an amazing idea.”
“Yes, we need Greenland. Greenland is an amazing thing to have,” Jennings said. “It‘s like — do you ever play Monopoly? You know, like, the first row of properties, like, yeah, they‘re cheap, maybe I don‘t need — you need those. Those are vital properties. I am for Greenland.”
Jennings went on to suggest that if Trump can pull off the purchase of Greenland during his second term, “it will be a great legacy piece for Donald Trump.”
In fact, he went so far as to publicly declare his intention to seek a prominent role there.
“I am personally, and on television, applying to be the military governor of Greenland if, in fact, we do take control of it,” he stated.
