Super PAC Attacking Media, Schumer Expands Ad Buy To Target Mark Kelly

A conservative super PAC is urging Republicans not to target mainstream media in campaign messages. It is expanding its ad buying, entering the Arizona Senate race with TC spots targeting Senator Mark Kelly (D–AZ).

Breitbart News reported that the Frontiers of Freedom Action super PAC placed ads last month in upstate New York’s regional markets, urging voters consider the “bargain” Sen. Chuck Schumer (D-NY), made to avoid a difficult primary battle from democratic socialist Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez. He vowed to vote and govern from left and would be virtually unopposed in the primary race.

The PAC now makes the same argument in Arizona. They argue that Kelly, who ran as a moderate, but voted for the party’s left in 2021, made a similar “corrupt deal” in his own race.

The PAC purchased airtime for a 2-minute ad that will air on Phoenix’s 10 p.m. TV news programs. It will air on Thursday and Sunday, as well as next week.

The company also has a similar advertisement on the internet:

Advertisements claim Kelly was the chief Biden enabler and that he could have stopped some the most extreme legislation from passing through the chamber as the 50th Senator, but he refused.

This implied contrast is with Senator Kirsten Sinema (D–AZ), who joined Sen. Joe Manchin, D-WV, in opposing some left wing initiatives and defending filibuster which enshrines minority rights.

The advertisement encourages viewers to press their local media outlets to question Kelly and calls on them to use the 2022 midterms to send a message to corrupt media institutions.

In the November election, Kelly will be challenged by Republican Blake Masters.
