Swalwell Delivers One of the Worst and One of the Funniest Replies to Harris’ Loss, Roseanne Has Thoughts

We’ve seen a lot of wild reactions and meltdowns in relation to Kamala Harris losing the presidential race.

Leftists definitely haven’t come to grips with it yet. You have some of them talking about “grace” or “bringing down the temperature” now. That’s funny since they’re the ones who were driving up the temperature by attacking both President Donald Trump and his millions of supporters. Translation: they want you to tone down your response and concede your position.

There hasn’t been a lot of reflection on why they lost, although there’s been a lot of blame-throwing.

But one of the funniest responses about why they lost may be from Rep. Eric Swalwell (D-CA). He’s got it figured out. He said the problem is that too often they speak like they’re doing a “Harvard law school moot court competition” and that they’re not “plain-spoken enough” for the American people.

“I think we would be better served if we led with our personality rather than policy,” he said.

“And our personalities can reflect our values, our principles, what we care about. Too often we’re just not plain-spoken enough and frankly we’re too nice and too modest and stand on virtue.”

Now that’s pretty hilarious.

So he’s saying that they’re too smart for most Americans to understand, so they should try to sway them with personality rather than policy. He thinks that’s what the vote for Trump was about.

Um, no, that’s not it. Harris was explicitly rejected because of her failure to put forth policies that the American people liked and because the American people were tired of her and Biden failing to address all the problems, like inflation and the border. No one could ever accuse Harris (or Swalwell for that matter) of being too intellectual. Meanwhile Trump was very clear about his policies, which don’t flip-flop like those of Harris. I would certainly agree, however, that Harris is not “plain-spoken” — she’s a word salad festival.

Then on top of that “we’re too nice and too modest and stand on virtue.” Joe Biden called millions of people “garbage.” Candidates Harris and Tim Walz implied that Trump supporters were Nazis and Trump was a new Hitler. Democrats and media did everything they could to smear Trump. Then there was the lawfare. So no, don’t even try. These Democrats are none of those things, they’re not nice, modest or virtuous.

Then, also let’s check Swalwell’s other reaction to the loss, which sounded a bit different from what he said above and is one of the worst responses.

“Not. Going. Quietly” after Democrats lost the election sounds like he’s advocating for something other than simply walking away, as they should. “Let’s get loud” and “Let’s get going” sounds like he’s calling people into the streets.

This doesn’t sound like just accepting the results of the election, which delivered a clear mandate from the American people in support of Trump.

Some, like actress Roseanne Barr, thought that sounded “insurrectiony.”

She had a typo; she meant “Jack Smith.”

Others were reminded of when Swalwell was not “quiet” on live TV during an interview.
