Tulsa, Oklahoma Police Say 5 Dead, Including Gunman After Hospital Shooting

Tulsa police in Oklahoma reported that four people were killed and a suspect gunman was also dead following an active shooter situation. He then committed suicide.

According to authorities, the Tulsa Police Department stated that officers responded to calls about an active shooter at the Natalie Medical Building at 5:50 p.m. The suspect was unidentified and was armed with a rifle as well as a handgun.

Officers arrived on the second floor of the building to find the victims and the gunman.

According to the police, no other threat was identified at the moment.

The Natalie Medical Building is used primarily for orthopedic and sports medicine.

Police said that families were asked to meet at Memorial High School. The authorities are asking people to leave the area.

Oklahoma Gov. Kevin Stitt issued a statement in response to the shooting.

“What happened in Tulsa today was a senseless act of violence and hatred. Sarah and I pray for the families of the victims and those who sustained injuries. I am thankful for the bravery and quick actions of the Tulsa Police Department, and all the first responders who tried to control a horrible situation. Mayor G.T. I have offered to help. Bynum all state resources may be required, and I ask Oklahomans to support the Saint Francis Health System community. Stitt added that Oklahomans should also come together to mourn those whose lives were forever changed.”
