Kamala Harris receives some well-deserved criticism for not being particularly sharp.
But on Monday, as she toured Hemlock Semiconductors in Saginaw, Michigan, she hit a whole different level that some compared to the show “Veep.”
They were showing her some polysilicon in the facility, covered in what looked like plastic wrap. The employee called it a “harvested U-rod.” But then she almost got herself into some big trouble. While she is not razor sharp, the silicon is.
“Can I touch it?” the Democratic nominee asked as her right hand hovered over the metalloid rod.
“Do not touch it,” the factory worker immediately responded.
“Do not,” the vice president noted. “I’m glad I asked.”
“Please do not touch any of the poly,” the hard-hat wearing employee added as Harris approached an enticing plate of silicon crystal chunks, just beyond the U-rod display.
“Those are very sharp,” another man on the tour informed Harris.
“OK … and shiny,” she observed, this time keeping her distance from the display.
Oh, my. She really does seem to want to imitate “Veep.”
Many asked how could anyone vote for her when she was like this. Some compared her to a child.
Despite the tour, she didn’t appear to have absorbed much because when she tried to explain it at the end, it didn’t go well.
“Polysilicone? Polysilicon. I’m sorry. That wasn’t right, right?” she said, cackling.
Does she even know what any of this was about and what she was doing there?
This was reminiscent of the time that she acted like an EV charger was a gas pump.
You thought Joe Biden was bad, and he is. He can’t even vote without there being a lot of questions raised about his actions like there were on Monday.
But she’s a certain kind of special all by herself. No, Kamala, you don’t have to pump an EV charge into the car when you plug it in.
Can you imagine generals or intel folks trying to explain weapons to Kamala — or complex military operations? Her brain would probably implode. And God knows what kinds of decisions she would make.
We’ve already seen how badly she’s dealt with things like inflation and the border. Who can forget her response to the reporter who asked her about having never traveled to the border?
“And I’ve never been to Europe,” she cluelessly said.
She’s also like Biden in that she refused to take any blame for anything she’s done wrong, a bad flaw in someone who wants to be a leader.
Lord save us from such as her. President Donald Trump is still up in the battleground states by 0.9 in the RealClear Politics average. He’s up by 0.1 in Michigan, the tightest state at the moment. He’s also up 0.2 in the RCP national popular vote.
So we have a good shot at bringing this home if everyone can get out and vote.
