Monday’s clarification by the White House regarding comments made by Kamala Harris, Vice President of Kamala Petroleum about Hurricane Ian was that her comments about “equity”, did not mean that resources would be distributed equally to all.

Karine Jean-Pierre, White House press secretary, was asked questions about Harris’s remarks and the backlash they caused while she was on her way to Puerto Rico. She thanked the reporter and gave her the opportunity to answer.

Jean-Pierre stated, “That is not what she said.” Jean-Pierre stated, “She clearly spoke about long-term investments, not FEMA assistance for hurricane response efforts.” Both the vice president and president made it clear that the federal government is there and will continue being there for all Americans.

Priyanka Chopra, actress, was told by Harris at the Democratic National Committee’s Women’s Leadership Forum Friday afternoon that climate change is a problem that affects people of lower income and people of color.

Christina Pushaw, a representative of Gov. Ron DeSantis’s (R.FL) reelection campaign.

Jean-Pierre however, stated Monday that Pushaw’s interpretation wasn’t correct.

Jean-Pierre said equity is a concern but Jean-Pierre stated that the goal is to distribute resources to all who need them.
