A new poll shows that the majority of American voters believe “woke politicians” are responsible for the current crime wave in the United States.

According to the Harvard/Harris poll, 64 percent of Americans believe that woke politicians are responsible in increasing crime in American communities. Only 36 percent blame “other causes.”

A majority of voters across all political parties blame woke politicians in the rise in crime. For example, 52 percent of Democrats said that woke politicians were responsible for the rise in crime, while 75 percent and 60% of Republicans said the same.

The overwhelming majority of voters believe crime is increasing in their area, but a small minority believes it is decreasing. About 2/3 voters believe crime is rising — this includes 55 percent of Democrats and 81 percent for Republicans.

Only 11% of voters believe crime is falling, and 24% say crime levels are relatively stable.

Senator conservatives have asked President Joe Biden to send federal resources to American towns and cities to help with violent crime surges.

Recent mid-year surveys show that violent crime in American cities rose by more than four percent over the first six months 2022. Some cities saw a 36% increase in aggravated assaults and a doubling of murders compared to 2019.

Atlanta, Georgia has seen murder rates jump by 20 percent in the first six months this year. New Orleans murders have increased almost 40 percent. The murder rate in Texas, Maryland and Arizona is higher than it was last year.

The Harvard/Harris Poll, which was conducted online on October 12-13, surveyed more that 2,000 voters.
