On Twitter, Leftists don’t seem to be too keen to celebrate Independence Day this Year.
Twitter users expressed disgust at America ahead of the July Fourth holiday and stated that they would not be celebrating our independence.

Most of them feel that the recent Supreme Court ruling in Dobbs. v. Jackson Women’s Health Organization has dampened the celebrations.

The ruling was criticized by left-leaning news and entertainment media members, who claimed that women in the United States are no longer free. They also claimed that July 4th is unnecessary. Many mentioned that the Jan 6 Capitol Riot and former President Donald Trump had ruined their holiday.

One of the more cautious Twitter users expressed a desire for the country to “blow up” on its biggest holiday.

Dean Obeidallah, a MSNBC contributor, complained that the Supreme Court had ruined his holiday. He tweeted: “How can our nation celebrate Independence Day when the GOP Supreme Court ‘Court ‘Court’ just stripped the rights of women to personal freedom?”

Obeidallah had previously tweeted that he was disgusted at America and quoted Frederick Douglass, the famous abolitionist. Obeidallah wrote: “Fredrick Douglass, July 4, 1852: Your celebration is a sham; you boasted liberty; your national greatness and swelling vanity; and your sounds of joy are empty and heartless… Your shouts of equality and liberty are hollow mockery.”

Liberal author Don Winslow wrote Friday that Friday was the anniversary of Civil Rights Act. Monday, July 4, is also Friday. Yet, we find ourselves in 2022 with no basic civil or human rights or freedoms for women.

Tom Peters, a Business author and lefty on Twitter, wrote: “Don’t believe I can turn my thoughts towards July 4 without my mind jumping to January 6,”

Brandi Glanville, a TV personality, tweeted that she was not celebrating Independence Day because she doesn’t like the idea of living in a country free.

Nina Turner, a former Democratic Ohio senator and MSNBC contributor, implied that conservatives don’t have the right to celebrate Independence Day in this year. She tweeted: “Conservatives will trample upon human rights, then turn back and celebrate Independence Day weekend.”

Luke Zaleski is the Conde-Nast legal affairs editor (parent company to Vogue, Vanity Fair, and The New Yorker). He tweeted: “This Independence Day, remember that trump took yours away, America.”

Later Zaleski tweeted that the ex-president was a traitor and he orchestrated a terror attack at the Capitol to stop the certification for his legitimate loss. This in effect helped overthrow the country’s rule of law and democracy. He was never charged with any crime.”

Mrs. Doubtfire’s screenwriter Randi Mayem Singer tweeted, “Happy Independence Day Old White Men.”

Alisha Grauso is the Features Editor at Screen Rant. She asked, via Twitter: “Do other Americans not feel the same way about Independence Day?” I don’t feel like rah rahing for the country right now.

Her tweet response was worse than her original: “My mood this Year is more like, what about if this country burns to the goddamnground, as a little treat?”
