Kanye West claimed that Black Lives Matter is a’scam’ and that he took credit for moving the discussion off of the movement onto himself. This was just a day after he wore a “White Lives Matter” shirt to his Yeezy fashion show, Paris.

Ye, as Ye prefers to be known, said in an Instagram story that “Everyone knows Black Lives Matter is a scam.” It’s over. You’re welcome.”

Yesterday’s “Heartless” artist was seen posing with Candace Owens, a conservative commentator, in long-sleeved shirts that were contrary to the Black Lives Matter mission to eliminate white supremacy and build local power in order to intervene in violence against Black communities by the state or vigilantes.

Although the rapper didn’t elaborate on his slogan, it caused immediate backlash.

Jaden Smith, Will Smith’s son and fellow artist, was at West’s Yeezy Show with his father. However, Smith reportedly left the show due to controversy.

The 24-year-old tweeted a series of messages, including “I Had to Dip Lol”, “I Don’t Care Who (sic), It Is If My Message I’m Out,” and “Black Lives Matter.”

The 45-year old has been at odds with the African American community before. In 2018, West spoke with “TMZ Live” and said that slavery was “a choice”.

The rapper, known for his polarizing statements via social media, stated “absolutely” last month in reference to another political campaign.

Fox News Digital reached out to both Black Lives Matter Grassroots Organization and Black Lives Matter Organizer representatives, but they did not immediately respond to Fox News Digital’s request.
