New York Governor Kathy Hochul mocked Florida Governor Ron DeSantis at a bill signing. This was about Holocaust education in schools.
She made fun of DeSantis.
“I just wanted to say thanks to the 1.77million Jews who call New York home. ”
Hochul said shortly afterward: “Getting in trouble – you have to stick to the script.”
Lindsey Curnutte spoke for DeSantis.
“A Holocaust education event is not the time to make cheap, sexist attacks against a fellow governor. Curnutte said that Kathy Hochul was offensive to thousands fleeing New York due to New York’s oppressive taxes”.
Bryan Griffin, DeSantis’ new press secretary, said:
“The potshot by Governor Hochul is clearly unfounded and dishonest. Governor DeSantis fought in 2020 for legislation, two years prior to New York. This law codified Holocaust Education standards. It shouldn’t be used as an attack target.
Dave Abrams was the spokesperson for DeSantis.
There are still people who hope for reconciliation after a divorce. Governors should spend more time helping citizens escape oppressive taxes and shut down businesses. Florida should be promoting freedom.
Hochul’s comments upset even Democrats. DovHikind, a former New York Assemblyman and Democratic-NY candidate, attacked the Governor of New York.
“I found it completely ridiculous. The governor in New York must be removed. You are organizing an anti-Semitic event and are busy attacking Florida’s governor. There are no other people who would dispute the fact that many are moving to New York from Florida. Uncontrollable events in New York have led to thousands of New Yorkers moving to New York.
Hochul’s comments are shameful. Hochul was disgraceful. They will continue fleeing to Florida until then.
A few months ago, @MJHnews refused to rent space for a conf. featuring @RonDeSantisFL to avoid being political. Yesterday, just a little over 2 mnths. before her gubernatorial election, the museum had @GovKathyHochul sign a bill. Will they let me host her (R) opponent @leezeldin?
