In late August, we learned some not-so-great news in the case involving Edward “Big Balls” Coristine, a 19-year-old former DOGE staffer who was allegedly assaulted in the early morning hours of Sunday, August 3rd, in Washington, D.C., after reportedly coming to the defense of a woman, said to be his “significant other,” who allegedly was being carjacked.

As RedState documented, the D.C. Superior Court judge in the case, Joe Biden appointee Kendra D. Briggs, ruled that both of the 15-year-old suspects who were being held at the Youth Services Center should be released, with the female suspect going to a youth shelter, while the male suspect would be subjected to home arrest while at home with his parents.

At the time, it was also reported that “the prosecutor and  D.C. Attorney General Brian Schwalb both opposed the decision, requesting that the teenagers remain detained at DYRS.”

Unfortunately, the update to that update is not good, as we’re learning that though new charges are being filed, including a felony charge, the female suspect has now been released to the custody of her parents as well. Plus, a plea deal may be in the works ahead of the next hearing:

At a status hearing yesterday, the two juvenile defendants — a 15-year-old boy and girl who had initially been charged with unarmed carjacking — were arraigned on new charges: two counts of simple assault for the female defendant; three counts of simple assault, one count of felony assault, and one count of robbery for the male defendant.

But following the recommendations of court social services, Judge Kendra Briggs ordered the young woman to be moved from a youth facility back to the custody of her parents, subject to a 24-hour curfew. The young man is already at home with his parents. Because the defendants are underage, aspects of the case remain shrouded in mystery, with things like police bodycam footage off-limits to the general public.

The trial — which was initially scheduled for late September and could theoretically reveal more specifics of what happened during the 3 a.m. incident in early August — now seems farther off, if it happens at all. At the hearing, defense attorneys and prosecutors indicated that they may commence preliminary plea talks. The next hearing is set for Sept. 24.

Needless to say, this isn’t going to make President Trump happy, nor D.C. US Attorney Jeanine Pirro, especially seeing as this case was one of a series of high-profile summer cases in D.C. that prompted Trump to federalize law enforcement in the nation’s capital city in early August.

Though information on the suspects and specifics on the alleged assault are limited, learning that both are now back out ahead of the next hearing and a possible plea deal is going to contribute more to the climate of fear in D.C., where repeat juvenile offenders are also a big problem (for the record, we don’t know if the suspects are repeat offenders) which Trump is trying to address.

Compounding the issue is that the Metropolitan Police Department’s news release at the time of the alleged offense indicated that “multiple suspects remain outstanding,” so there are others out there who allegedly participated in the alleged crime who remain at large.

Crime crackdowns involve multistep processes that obviously go beyond arresting suspects. It also involves throwing the book at the alleged offenders to send a message to other would-be offenders that if you do the crime, you do the time.

But this is D.C. we’re talking about here, with woke leftist judges and soft-on-crime prosecutors like Schwalb, all of whom make getting the city safe again that much harder.

California, or at least one part of California, is showing signs of sanity on the entire “gender policy” front. Well, all right, most of California doesn’t buy into the whole Left Coast tripe that the coastal elites absorb with their morning lattes, and all you have to do is look at a California congressional district map from the 2024 election to see why. But now we see a walkout to protest the Temecula Valley Unified School District’s policy of letting boys use girls’ bathrooms and locker rooms, with the protest including students, parents, and faculty.

Southern California students and faculty staged a walkout at their middle school in protest of the Temecula Valley Unified School District’s policy that allows transgender girls in bathrooms and locker rooms.

During class on Tuesday, students, parents and faculty members at James L. Day Middle School walked out to protest against the district policy that affirms that transgender students can access bathrooms and locker rooms “consistent with a student’s gender identity.”

Since the start of the new school year, a student who identifies as female has been using the girls’ locker room, parents report.

The student can claim to “identify” as a ham sandwich, a spadefoot toad, or the Messier 13 Great Globular Cluster in the constellation Hercules until he’s blue in the face, and he will remain a boy. He has an X and a Y chromosome. He has a boy’s wedding tackle (unless an overenthusiastic “gender-affirming care” surgeon has already lopped them off). He is a boy. Facts are facts. In no sane world should he be allowed in girls’ bathrooms or locker rooms. Oh, the actual girls in the school were offered an “out,” but the “out” is, as these things so often are, an unacceptable load of horse squeeze.

The Board Policy 5145.31: “Religious or Mental Health-Related Accommodations” does offer girls two “outs,” which are either to file a religious-belief accommodation or a mental-health accommodation.

But parents at the protest told the California Family Council that neither option is acceptable. They don’t want to label their daughter with a mental health condition for wanting privacy or claim a religious exemption to avoid boys dressing in girls’ locker rooms, parents added. As one mom stated, “My daughter’s not anxious or sick. She just deserves a girls’ locker room.”

Want to know what’s acceptable? Boys use boys’ facilities, and girls use girls’ facilities. That’s all. It’s that simple. It has been that simple since there have been public facilities of any kind, and likely before that. I mean, there had to be a first time some tribal chieftain announced, “Men go do business on north side of big rock, women go do business on south side.”

OH Asst Athletic Director Caught on Tape Instructing a Parent on How to Skirt State Anti-Transgender Laws

The Temecula Valley Unified School District replied, of course.

The district said in a statement that it “respects the rights of students and community members to engage in peaceful expression and assembly,” adding California law requires that students “be allowed to participate in sex-segregated programs and have access to facilities consistent with their gender identity. Any revised proposal will take this requirement into account while addressing the concerns raised by students, parents, and the community.”

The two statements are incompatible. A school board cannot respect the rights of its female students while allowing a boy in the girls’ locker room. As for the California law, that needs to change. The state is already playing at snap-and-slash with the Trump administration over that law, and my money’s not on California in this one – in no small part because, as we see here, parents and even some faculty have had enough.

Several candidates for the populist Alternative for Germany (AfD) have died in the lead-up to this month’s local elections in the country’s most populous state.

According to the German paper of record Die Welt, at least seven AfD candidates have died ahead of the September 14th elections in the state of North Rhine-Westphalia. Authorities have stressed that there is so far no evidence of foul play in any of the deaths.

Germany’s Deutsche Presse-Agentur wire service noted that a total of 16 candidates have died before the upcoming vote. Yet, no other party besides the Eurosceptic right-wing party has suffered more than one death.

However, police have already confirmed natural causes in four of the AfD candidate deaths and said there are so far no indications of foul play in the others.

The latest death was confirmed this week to be Hans-Joachim Kind, a candidate for the populist party in the Kremenholl district. It has been reported that the 80-year-old died of natural causes after a lengthy illness.

A North Rhine-Westphalia election commission spokesman told the DPA that the number of deaths was “not significantly higher” than in past elections, with tens of thousands of people running for seats in the state.

The death of a candidate can result in election officials printing new ballots with a replacement candidate or sometimes holding special elections.

Deputy chairman of the AfD in North Rhine-Westphalia, Kay Gottschalk, said on Tuesday that the party will “pursue the cases with due sensitivity and care”.

However, she added that there are “no indications” that any of the cases involve “murder or the like” with many of the deceased having “pre-existing conditions”.

According to the latest polling from the RTL/NTV tracker, the AfD remains the most popular party in Germany at 26 per cent, with the centrist CDU/CSU of Chancellor Friedrich Merz trailing at 25 per cent and the coalition partner Social Democrats languishing in third place at 13 per cent.

Democrat Rashida Tlaib (D-MI) is facing a censure threat over remarks made at a pro-Palestinian conference in Detroit over the weekend.

“Outside of the decaying halls of the empire in Washington, D.C., we are winning. They are scared,” Tlaib said during the People’s Conference for Palestine, dismissing the concerns of her colleagues who face protests from pro-Palestinian groups and members by asserting they are simply “scared.”

“They send me videos and messages of people protesting in front of their district offices, people showing up at their town halls, and I was like, ‘We’re not all related.’ Those are fellow Americans,” she said dismissively. “Maybe you should meet with them and listen.”

As such, Rep. Buddy Carter (R-GA) introduced the censure resolution, accusing the Democrat of “vilifying her colleagues, endangering the lives of Jewish people, and celebrating terrorism.”

The resolution states, “Representative Rashida Tlaib has repeatedly displayed conduct entirely unbecoming of a member of the House of Representatives by calling for the destruction of the state of Israel and by dangerously promoting terrorism and extremism, while Israeli and American hostages remain in terrorist captivity.”

Further, Carter’s resolution also cited other speakers at the pro-Palestinian conference, including Palestinian Youth Movement (PYM) leader Aisha Nizar who called on supporters to disrupt the supply chain for F-35 fighter jets.

Her remarks also caught the attention of Sen. Tom Cotton (R-AR), who penned a letter to FBI Director Kash Patel, asking him to investigate the terrorist-sympathizing group following Nizar’s remarks, which he deemed a threat to U.S. national security

“If one specific node of the F-35 supply chain is intervened in, it has a huge impact,” Nizar reportedly said.

“We need to be surgical. We need to be strategic… Because there are many different points of these supply chains of death that we can intervene in and we must intervene in,” she added.

Tlaib, of course, is no stranger to the PYM, proudly meeting with members in the past.

In a statement to Fox News Digital, Carter said Tlaib’s conduct is “beneath that of a civilized person, let alone a member of Congress.”

“I am calling on the House of Representatives to censure her remarks and put Democrats on notice for enabling and cheering on antisemitism in their own party,” he added.

In 2023, the House voted to censure Tlaib over anti-Israel remarks.

As Breitbart News reported at the time, “Rep. Rich McCormick (R-GA), who introduced the measure, said that Tlaib’s comments were worthy of censure because she essentially called for the annihilation of Israel by sharing a video on X that included the phrase ‘from the river to the sea.’”

There’s an old saying that goes, “If you dine at the devil’s table, you don’t get to choose the menu.” And yet dining at the devil’s table is precisely what Ukraine’s President Volodymyr Zelensky is being offered, in the form of an invitation from Russian President Vladimir Putin to meet to discuss an end to the Russo-Ukrainian War.

The meeting, of course, is to take place in Moscow.

Russian President Vladimir Putin on Wednesday claimed he “never refused” a meeting with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy and invited him to come to Moscow, according to Russian state-owned news outlet Tass.

“If Zelenskyy is ready for a meeting, let him come to Moscow,” Putin said, according to a translation of the remarks issued from China, where he met with Chinese President Xi Jinping and North Korean leader Kim Jong Un for a military parade commemorating the 80th anniversary of World War II.

Zelenskyy’s office did not immediately respond to Fox News Digital’s questions, nor did the White House. 

Were I one of President Zelensky’s advisors, this would pretty much be my reaction:

As the old Vulcan proverb goes, only Nixon could go to China – but Volodymyr Zelensky is pretty much the last guy who should ever be going to Moscow. It wouldn’t be at all surprising if he never returned, having suffered some totally unexpected fatal accident, like tripping and falling onto some bullets.

Yes, the two sides need to talk. But having Ukraine’s leader walk into a lion’s den, a den where the lions have nuclear weapons, is a really, really bad idea.

Ukrainian Foreign Minister Sybiha took to X and accused Putin of issuing “knowingly unacceptable proposals,” adding that seven nations have made known their readiness to host peace talks, including Austria, Vatican City, Switzerland, Turkey, and three Gulf states. 

“These are serious proposals and President Zelenskyy is ready for such a meeting at any point of time. Yet, Putin continues to mess around,” he added.  “Only increased pressure can force Russia to finally get serious about peace process.”

Putin’s invitation to Moscow casts some doubt on how willing he is to make a deal. It beggars belief that Putin, who is nobody’s dummy, thinks that President Zelensky would actually come to Moscow.

The Creep Files: Hot Mic Catches Putin, Xi Jinping Dreaming of Achieving Immortality

Look at the optics of this from Putin’s side, though. He’s clearly intending to show Ukraine and the Ukrainian president who the bigger fish is. The statement – “We’ll talk, but only if you come to me,” is pretty blatant. We might remember that, in the glad-handing press conference following the Alaska Summit, Putin said in a slightly humorous tone to President Trump, “Next time in Moscow.” But the American president could probably go into that lion’s den and come out unscathed. Ukraine’s president? Not so much.

Any of these talks should be on neutral ground for both warring powers. Little Diomede Island sounds like a good place; it’s remote, peaceful, and if things go sour, all it would take to return Tsar Vladimir I to Russian soil would be a rowboat.

We’ve had so many reasons to be grateful that Kamala Harris and Tim Walz lost in the 2024 election. 

But now we have another one, another instance of how vile Walz is and what a horrible fate we dodged had they won. On Labor Day, the Minnesota governor and failed vice presidential candidate talked about the rumors the left was spreading at the end of last week that President Donald Trump was missing or dead. 

“Look I get it, you get up in the morning and you doom scroll through things, although I will say this, the last few days you woke up thinking there might be news,” Walz said at a Labor Day picnic in Duluth on Monday, eliciting a laugh from the crowd in a reference to recent online conspiracy theories about Trump’s health with some claiming that he had died. 

“Just saying, just saying, there will be news sometime, just so you know, there will be news.”

That is so vile that this guy, who was the vice presidential candidate for the Democrats, would be wishing for the death of the President of the United States. This, after multiple assassination attempts on President Trump, after he was already shot in the ear. Little kids were just shot and killed, others were injured in a Catholic church in Walz’s state, and this is what he’s focused on? And these folks dare to talk about “norms” when they do things like this and demonize their opponents in their quest for power. But indeed, it shows their weakness, and it just shows how thoroughly Trump has beaten them.

CNN commentator and Salem Radio host Scott Jennings didn’t hold back in blasting how disgusting this was. He doesn’t generally curse, but he made an exception here, referring to Walz as a “piece of s***.” Jennings said he’d spoken to Trump and didn’t think he had to ask an “alive person” if he was dead.

Jennings said he had thought Walz was the “biggest buffoon in politics,” but it was worse than that. 

“I don’t care how much you hate your political opponent, wishing death on the sitting President of the United States means you are a broken-brained SOB.”

House Majority Whip Tom Emmer (R-MN), also from Minnesota, said Minnesotans deserved better. 

So does the country. Fortunately, we did do better.

It’s no secret that Alabama has its problems on the football field, but the true source of its trouble may lie in the school’s spending power.

Former Alabama quarterback and national champion AJ McCarron revealed that his alma mater is ill-equipped to compete in college football’s modern name, image, and likeness (NIL) era.

“You look at these other teams that have $40-50 million in NIL,” McCarron said in an appearance on the McCready & Siskey Podcast. “Alabama—and I know this for a fact, talking to multiple people in the program—Alabama has less than $20 million in their NIL.”

McCarron continued, “You know what helps Alabama from a recruiting standpoint? It’s the fact that Alabama has been Alabama, and people go there because they know you’re going to be able to compete for national championships, year in and year out. And you’re gonna go into the NFL, most likely, if you do what you’re supposed to do.

“If you start losing, all of that goes away. And now you can’t pay guys what other schools are dishing out? Now it hurts you even more. I don’t care who you have as a coach—whether Coach [Nick] Saban, Coach DeBoer, it doesn’t matter.”

You’d be hard-pressed to find a better summary of the situation confronting Alabama.

College football programs typically recruit based on their reputation for winning, money, or both.  Right now, with Kalen DeBoer only one game into his second year, Alabama has lost four games to unranked opponents. Bama had only lost one game to an unranked opponent in the previous 16 years. So, selling the program based on winning is not happening.

Nor is Alabama able to recruit with money. The school’s alumni are smart people who have done very well for themselves, but there’s no Phil Knight or T. Boone Pickens out there to steal top recruits away from other schools or to pay DeBoer’s enormous contract buyout.

However, as McCarron says, they could fire DeBoer tomorrow, and it still doesn’t change their NIL problem, which is at least as big a problem as the coach. It’s hard to see a way out of this for Alabama.

NBC issued a correction Friday after having used male pronouns in its reporting to describe the trans shooter who killed two children and wounded 17 other individuals during Mass at a Catholic school in Minneapolis last Wednesday.

CORRECTION (Aug. 29, 2025, 8:05 a.m. ET): A previous version of this article used the wrong pronoun for the shooter. She used female pronouns.

Breitbart News reported that the trans shooter changed his name from “Robert” to “Robin” at age 17, thereafter identifying as a female.

The trans shooter left behind a video manifesto in which he said, “F*ck those kids” and, “Where’s your f*cking God now?”

The article referenced by NBC previously referred to the trans shooter using male pronouns.

FBI director Kash Patel made clear that his agency is investigating the Catholic school shooting as a “barbaric attack” carried out by “Robert Westman, the male subject.”

The internet just blew up after a video surfaced of items being thrown out of the window at the White House, and it just might be possible that people have way too much time on their hands. 

It all started over the weekend, after one video after another began circulating on X of exterior shots of 1600 Pennsylvania Ave NW in Washington, D.C. In one video, we see a partial view of a person standing at one of the top windows and dropping something large right out the window onto the ground.

In another video, we see the same window, but what appears to be a different, large, bag-like looking object.

As social media often does with these things, the speculation about what could possibly be going on at the White House led to some pretty crazy and sometimes funny ideas.

One person suggested it was perhaps First Lady Melania Trump in the window and that she was throwing something out because she was “mad” about something, claiming that women often throw things out of windows. 

Another person speculated it could have been a bronze bust of former President Barack Obama.

“I figured out what they were throwing out of the White House window,” the post read, along with a picture of the bust.

A third person wrote, “Someone was tossing stuff out a White House window yesterday. Epstein files? Burn bags? Leftover Big Macs? We may never know the truth…”

A fourth person wrote, “Why is Someone throwing objects out the damn window at the White House? This makes zero sense under any normal circumstances. The media needs to get answers, even if just from a security perspective. What the hell is the Secret Service doing?

Trump’s Latest Plans for the White House Guaranteed to Melt the Left

Online sleuths also noted that the window appeared to be located in the Lincoln Bedroom, a location in the White House that Trump previously mentioned as a place where a bathroom needed some work, the Post reported.

“We’ll be doing the Lincoln bathroom, which was Art Deco,” Trump said last month, adding, “We’re making it actually incredible.”

And as it turns out, the media has gotten to the bottom of the mystery of the window shenanigans. A White House spokesperson said it was simply a contractor doing work at the White House:

“An official said that an object was thrown out of the window by ‘a contractor who was doing regular maintenance while the president was gone.'”

President Trump recently made headlines when he announced all the work happening at the White House. The biggest being the construction that will soon get underway for the creation of a grand ballroom on the White House grounds complex, RedState reported.

The answers from elected so-called Democrat “leaders” in Illinois on the issue of crime usually revolve along the lines of – to paraphrase – “we got this,” “Chicago is safe, see? I’m walking around unharmed,” and/or “crime is way down,” all of which surely is news to Windy City residents.

As we’ve reported, sometimes the answer is to deflect, which we saw from woke Democrat Chicago “Alderperson” Byron Sigcho-Lopez, who, when confronted on CNN Monday about the extremely violent Labor Day holiday weekend Chicago had, blamed President Trump.

“We also have had many, many instances where the administration has really escalated — exacerbated the violence in our — in our — in our country, in our — in our cities,” he declared, while tossing in the “dictator” card for good measure.

For Illinois Gov. JB Pritzker, the ignoring and deflections have been even more astonishing considering he’s rumored to be considering a 2028 presidential run.

We documented, for instance, Pritzker’s answer to Trump calling him out over the weekend, as the crimefest in Chicago unfortunately was underway, with Trump referencing the troubling numbers from the previous weekend.

“Six people were killed, and 24 people were shot, in Chicago last weekend, and JB Pritzker, the weak and pathetic Governor of Illinois, just said that he doesn’t need help in preventing CRIME,” Trump wrote on Truth Social Saturday.

Pritzker’s response? To completely ignore the substance. Instead, he disgustingly joined in on the false, Lincoln Project-fueled rumormongering about Trump allegedly being unwell or dead, tweeting, “Why don’t you send everyone proof of life first? (Either way, Chicago doesn’t want you here).”

It was the answer Pritzker gave on Monday to questions about Chicago’s violent weekend, however, that was the biggest gift to the GOP.

At last check, 37 shootings occurred over the three-day period. 58 people were shot, according to the most recent data, with eight of the shootings being deadly

NBC 5 Chicago reporter Mary Ann Ahern point-blank asked Pritzker during the Monday interview if he really felt the city was safe:

You’re going to hear people, especially after this past weekend, 54 shot, seven dead, they’re going to say the city’s not safe. Would you ask your friends to ride the L after midnight, or after you know, nine o’clock at night, even, to come down to the city from O’Hare?

Pritzker’s reply? Well, Chicago is a big city, so of course it’s going to have crime, but the real issue is Trump and red states:

Look, big cities have crime. There’s no doubt about it. But let’s just pay attention to what President Trump is doing, targeting Chicago. He’s overlooking red states that have much higher crime rates.

Watch:

Pritzker seemingly shrugging off the question with an “it’s just another day” kind of response should not sit well with Chicago and Illinois voters who are fed up with the violent crime, and it shouldn’t go over well with voters in 2028, either.  Just not acceptable. At all.

His remarks got the attention of the Trump-Vance White House, and Deputy Press Secretary Abigail Jackson responded accordingly:

Further, Pritzker – like California Gov. Gavin Newsom – conveniently leaves out that in the red states they reference that do have crime issues, usually it’s because the big blue cities in those particular states are doing their thing:

And in Jackson, MS, which is also controlled by Democrats:

At least seven people were shot over Labor Day weekend in Jackson that resulted in three fatalities, according to a series of press releases issued by Jackson Police Department Public Information Officer Tommie Brown.

The Clarion Ledger records show that the three deaths mark 40 reported homicides investigated by Jackson police as of this Tuesday, Sept. 2 publication.

I could go on, but I think the point has been made. These guys are dishonest to the core on many issues, but especially when it comes to crime. And if they think framing the issue the way they have in recent weeks is going to make this a “winning” issue for them in 2026 and 2028, they’ve got another thing coming.
