The White House has rejected Rep. Maria Salazar’s (R-FL) suggestion President Donald Trump owes God a favor and should repay the debt by signing her amnesty and migration bill.

“The same God who saved you from death in Pennsylvania one year ago and who put you back in the Oval Office, against all odds, is the same God Almighty who millions and millions [of illegal migrants] are begging to for some type of dignity,” Salazar (R-FL) declared at a July 15 press conference on Capitol Hill.

“It’s in your hands, Mr. President. May the Lord guide you,” Salazar declared.

On Thursday, Trump’s press secretary Karoline Leavitt replied: “The president made it clear he will not support amnesty for illegal aliens in any way.”

“From my understanding, neither the White House nor the President has actually read through this legislation,” she said.

Salazar’s theocratic pitch for amnesty and cheap labor is “insulting,” said Jessica Vaughan, policy director at the Center for Immigration Studies. Vaughan added:

She thinks that that’s what he’s a sucker for, [and for] flattery, and [her] promises that he will be loved more by the people she’s advocating on behalf of …  [But] he doesn’t need these people — they’re never going to agree with him on any of his immigration policy goals.

Salazar made her pitch to Trump alongside her allies in the Congressional Hispanic Caucus, and multiple GOP legislators, including Rep. Mike Lawler (R-NY), who delayed Trump’s signature spending bill to win a real estate tax break that helps Democratic-run countries.

Salazar said:

Now I went to speak directly to the President of the United States, President Trump. Sir, the same God who saved you from death in Pennsylvania one year ago and who put you back in the Oval Office, against all odds, is the same God Almighty who millions and millions are begging to for some type of dignity … You have been called to do this, to fix this 40-year mess with just one signature: Yours … It’s in your hands, Mr. President.

May the Lord guide you.

From Capitol Hill, Salazar also claimed to offer Trump a historic role akin to President Abraham Lincoln, who won the Civil War against slavery, and President Ronald Reagan, who won the Cold War against communism. But the historic role she offered him is President of a war against decent wages, saying:

I believe that you could be for immigration, what Lincoln was for slavery and Reagan was for communism. You are a businessman who understands our economy needs a reliable working force in areas where other Americans don’t participate.

However, Trump promised repeatedly during the campaign that he would revive the American Dream, not replay the Great Depression’s damage to employment and wages.

“We will make housing much more affordable… [and] we will get [mortgage rates] back down to 3 percent … [so] young people will be able to buy a home again and be part of the American dream,”  Trump said in September 2024, adding:

Millions of people will take part … [in] reviving the American Dream. It’s about the American Dream. It’s all about the American Dream. We don’t talk [about the] American Dream with these [Democratic] people in office. they don’t want to talk about the American dream because they are the exact opposite.

In August, Trump said:

We want to have a safe country. We want to have a strong military. We want low interest rates, and we want to be able to have the American Dream. We want to be able to have our youth be able to buy homes, housing, get good jobs, and we’re really just at the opposite right now. So it’s so sad to see … [Harris has] been the worst border czar in history …  [and] 20 million people came over the border during the Biden-Harris administration … Now you have people dying financially because they can’t buy bacon, they can’t buy food, they can’t buy groceries, they can’t do anything, and they’re living horribly in our country right now.

The vision of productivity and prosperity is increasingly being supported by a growing number of GOP-affiliated elites.

They are calling for cuts to legalized migration to help promote productivity, prosperity, innovation, and fairness for all Americans. For example, that productivity perspective is also backed by Rep. Jim Jordan (R-OH), the chairman of the House judiciary committee, who is pushing for passage of a bill that would reduce the legalization of migrants.

In contrast, Salazar’s bill is backed by “the unholy alliance of immigrant advocates … and big business employer interests who profit from illegal immigration,” said Vaughan. “An amnesty for illegal workers is an amnesty for them too, and a way for them to avoid having to compete to hire American workers,” she added.

Her bill would dramatically raise the inflow of blue-collar and white-collar migrnats above the current annual inflow of one million migrants and one million temporary workers. For example, Salazar’s description of the bill lists multiple sections that would dramatically grow the inflow of wage-cutting, rent-spiking foreign workers into the white-collar and blue-collar jobs needed by young Americans:

Authorizes [migration] centers in Latin America, to prevent individuals from making a long land journey and to disrupt human trafficking and smuggling operations that are profiting from sending individuals to our southern border. These facilities will offer asylum pre-screening, family reunification services for children, and regional employment consultation services.

…

[IIlegal migrants get] a 7-year program that provides work authorization and protection from removal proceedings, if conditions and requirements are being met … If they remain in good standing with the law, they can remain in this status as long as they want.

…

[Double the annual inflow of] “high-skilled Employment Visas [workers] … by only counting the principal applicant (worker), and not a child or spouse that is not working, towards [the limit of 140,000] annual employment visas.

Allows STEM PHD Graduates from American Universities to receive an O Visa for Individuals with Extraordinary Ability or Achievement, allowing them to stay and work in the U.S.
…

Allows [chain migration] individuals that have been waiting 10 years or more in the [capped] legal immigration line to pay a premium processing fee of $20,000 to move up in the line [of 4 million people]. Doubles the per-country cap set in the Immigration Act of 1990, from 7% to 15%. This will reduce backlogs from [India].

Modernizes student visas to streamline the process for students to stay and work after their education is complete, if they would like to.

Ten GOP legislators back the Salazar plan.

They include Rep. Dan Newhouse (R-WA), who owns orchards that rely on farm labor, Rep. Brian Fitzpatrick (R-PA), who voted against the Trump-backed reconciliation bill, migration supporter Rep. Mike Lawler (R-NY), and retiring Rep. Don Bacon (R-NE).

Her pro-poverty bill is also backed by Rep. Mario Rafael Diaz-Balart (R-FL), Rep. Mike Kelly (R-PA), Rep. Gabe Evans (R-CO), Rep. Marlin Stutzman (R-IN), Rep. Young Kim (R-CA), and Rep. David Valadao (R-CA). “In the [Central] Vall,ey there are many people who have lived and worked peacefully for years, and they deserve a fair opportunity to earn legal status,” said a statement from Valadao.

Salazar and her allies “are clueless about what is important to Trump’s core supporters,” said Vaughan. “This [bill] is going nowhere, but they’re willing to go along with it so that they can tell some of their donors that they tried.”

A tearful Los Angeles County Sheriff held a press conference late Friday morning to formally announce the deaths of three deputies in an explosion at a training facility in East Los Angeles. 

This morning, shortly after 7:30 AM, an explosion occurred at our Special Enforcement Bureau (SEB) Arson/Explosives Detail facility.

Tragically, there were three sworn members who were killed that were assigned to our Arson/Explosives Detail. No other department members were injured or transported to any hospitals. This is, unfortunately, the largest loss of life for us as the LA County Sheriff’s Department since 1857. Between all three sworn members they had served our community proudly for 74 years … 19 years, 22 years, and 33 years.

According to initial reports from multiple news outlets, there was also one deputy injured and transported to the hospital. Luna was asked about the discrepancy between that report and his current statement that no other department members were injured, and simply repeated his prior statement. 

Luna said he has met with “several” family members of the deputies who were killed already, but some have not been notified so they are not yet releasing the victims’ names. He added that LASD homicide detectives are investigating the deaths, and they are being assisted by the FBI, who are investigating the post-blast portion of the incident.

Breaking: Reports of 3 People Killed in Explosion at LA County Sheriff Dept. Training Facility

Immediately prior to the press conference, which was held about four hours after the explosion, the scene was rendered safe, Luna said. Luna did not give any information as to what type of explosion occurred, whether the deputies who were killed were taking part in training, what types of devices detonated, or whether there were additional devices. However, as we reported initially, sources told Fox News’ Alexandria Hernandez that “deputies were moving ordnance on the facility’s property when the explosion took place.” In addition, Malibu-based investigative journalist Cece Woods, whose work centers on the LA County Sheriff’s Department, reports:

LASD recovered two military-type devices and two pipe bombs in Santa Monica area last night. These were the devices that exploded this morning per sources. Feds have taken over the investigation.

Sources within the department confirmed to RedState that SEB recovered two military-type explosives Thursday night during an bomb call-out and that it was those devices being transported Friday morning when one of them detonated. 

Back in the day, the Obama administration was infamous for doing Friday afternoon “news dumps” in order to release unfavorable news regarding the administration at a time when most people had logged off for the weekend and weren’t paying attention. The hope, of course, being that any backlash resulting from the Friday afternoon or evening releases would have subsided by Monday morning. The media, unsurprisingly, was usually happy to play along.

New: CIA Assessment Reveals How Far Obama Administration Went to Frame Trump, Implicates Officials

Well, the Trump administration is getting in on the action with their own Friday afternoon document dump—and their dump also does not reflect well on Barack Obama and his administration. The documents in question are newly-declassified materials released by Director of National Intelligence Tulsi Gabbard showing how deeply involved Obama and members of his administration were in helping to devise and perpetuate the Russia collusion hoax against Donald Trump.

A clearly-irate Gabbard took to X Friday afternoon to detail what was found in the documents—i.e., Obama & co. made the whole thing up—and what she plans to do with the information.

GABBARD: Americans will finally learn the truth about how in 2016, intelligence was politicized and weaponized by the most powerful people in the Obama Administration to lay the groundwork for what was essentially a years-long coup against President @realDonaldTrump, subverting the will of the American people and undermining our democratic republic.

That infographic tells the story. Having failed to produce any actual evidence of collusion during the 2016 presidential race that saw Trump defeat Hillary Clinton, Obama officials met during the transition period after the election to craft the hoax.

GABBARD: For months preceding the 2016 election, the Intelligence Community shared a consensus view: Russia lacked the intent and capability to hack U.S. elections.

But weeks after President Trump’s historic 2016 victory defeating Hillary Clinton, everything changed.

On Dec 8, 2016, IC officials prepared an assessment for the President’s Daily Brief, finding that Russia “did not impact recent U.S. election results” by conducting cyber attacks on infrastructure.

Before it could reach the President, it was abruptly pulled “based on new guidance.” This key intelligence assessment was never published.

The next day, top national security officials including FBI Dir James Comey, CIA Dir John Brennan and DNI James Clapper gathered at the Obama White House to discuss Russia. Obama directed the IC to create a new intelligence assessment that detailed Russian election meddling, even though it would contradict multiple intelligence assessments released over the previous several months.

So, they not only knew there was no collusion, they went to extraordinary lengths to hide that truth from the American public and craft new, false assessments to perpetuate the hoax.

Enter the media.

GABBARD: Obama officials immediately leaned on their allies in the media to advance their falsehoods. Anonymous IC sources leaked classified information to the Washington Post and others that Russia had intervened to hack the election in Trump’s favor.

Obama’s fingerprints are all over this.

GABBARD: On January 6, 2017, just days before President Trump took office, DNI Clapper unveiled the Obama-directed politicized assessment, a gross weaponization of intelligence that laid the groundwork for a years-long coup intended to subvert President Trump’s entire presidency.

According to whistleblower emails shared with us today, we know Clapper and Brennan used the baseless discredited Steele Dossier as a source to push this false narrative in the intelligence assessment. 

These documents detail a treasonous conspiracy by officials at the highest levels of the Obama White House to subvert the will of the American people and try to usurp the President from fulfilling his mandate.

None of this will come as a surprise to anyone who’s been paying attention, but it’s gratifying to know that it doesn’t end with the declassification of the documents. The delivery of F-35 fighter jets from the United States to Turkey will remain on “hold” by Senate Foreign Relations Committee Chairman Jim Risch (R-ID), despite Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan’s recent claim that he made progress on getting the planes in a meeting with President Donald Trump at the NATO summit last month.

Risch announced that he will continue to block the transfer of six completed Lockheed Martin jets that Turkey has already paid for during a July 9 hearing for Kimberly Guilfoyle, Trump’s nominee for ambassador to Greece, Aviation Week reported.

“I’ve got a hold on and I’m going to continue to have that hold for a lot of different reasons,” Risch said. “As far as Turkey is concerned, I’m the one that put the hold on the F-35s, and the F-35s they bought and paid for are still sitting in the United States.”

While the chairman does not have the unilateral power to veto the jets’ delivery, he does have the authority to place an indefinite hold on arms transfers. 

Just two weeks before, Erdoğan said “Mr. Trump was well-intentioned about delivering them,” after the two leaders met at the NATO summit in the Netherlands, Breitbart News reported.

“We discussed the F-35 issue. We made payments of $1.3 to $1.4 billion for the jets,” the Turkish president said, before calling Trump his “friend” who will help usher in a “new chapter in Turkish-American relations.”

Erdoğan has been trying to get his hands on the jets for years after his country was removed from NATO’s F-35 program during Trump’s first administration for purchasing the Russian-made S-400 air defense system against the Pentagon’s wishes.

“We have… been clear that acquisition of the [Russian] S-400 is not compatible with the F-35,” Lt. Col. Mike Andrews, a spokesman of the Department of Defense (DOD) said in 2019 after Turkey scheduled the purchase of the missile system. “We very much regret the current situation… but the DOD is taking prudent steps to protect the shared investments made in our critical technology.”

“The DOD told Erdoğan that buying S-400 missiles would not be ‘compatible’ with the F-35 program, since the F-35 is the very jet fighter that Russia designed the S-400 to shoot down,” Breitbart News’s John Hayward wrote last month. “The risk of Turkey having F-35s in convenient nearby hangers for Russian missile technicians to inspect was too high.”

Still, Erdoğan remains set on obtaining the jets. 

“We have not given up on the F-35s. We are discussing our intention to return to the program with our counterparts,” he told reporters during his flight home from the NATO summit. 

“We discussed the issue in our meeting with Mr. Trump, talks at a technical level have started. God willing, we will make progress,” he added.

Getting around the indefinite hold is not simple, as Turkey’s possession of the S-400 violates the Countering America’s Adversaries Through Sanctions Act (CAATSA) and triggered Section 1245 of the 2020 National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA), which “explicitly prohibits the delivery of F-35 jets to Turkey” as long as they have the Russian system, Aviation Week reported.

The White House has the power to lift CAATSA sanctions, but it does not have authority to waive Section 1245 of the NDAA. However, the section does allow a transfer of F-35s if the secretaries of State and Defense — Marco Rubio and Pete Hegseth — certify to Congress that Turkey no longer has the S-400 and will not try to get it back.

A bipartisan effort to continue blocking the jet delivery is being championed by Rep. Chris Pappas (D-NH) and other congressmembers of Greek descent, including Reps. Gus Bilirakis (R-FL), Nicole Malliotakis (R-NY), and Dina Titus (D-NV), Greek outlet Kathimerini reported Thursday. 

The aforementioned lawmakers reportedly authored a letter and are circulating it around the House of Representatives “aiming to rally support” before being sent to Rubio, according to the outlet. 

Senior U.S. officials have previously floated the idea of transferring the Russian system obtained by Erdoğan to the American-controlled sector of Incirlik base in the south of Turkey in order to get around Section 1245, the publication reported in September 2024. 

While Guilfoyle, the ex-fiancée of Donald Trump Jr., said during the Senate hearing that she would follow policies set by Trump, she agreed with the reasoning behind holding on the jet delivery.

“There are choices that people in countries make in life, and Turkey has chosen to work with the Russians with the S-400s,” the hopeful ambassador to Greece said. 

New polls show President Donald Trump’s approval among Republicans has risen—not fallen—despite nonstop social media backlash over the Epstein case.

 CNN chief data analyst Harry Enten admitted this week he was surprised to find that Trump’s standing with Republican voters has strengthened despite widespread complaints on social media about the Epstein files.

“You might think his approval ratings were going down with Republicans—if anything, they’re going up,” Enten said, referencing recent polling from CNN and Quinnipiac. According to CNN’s numbers, Republican approval of Trump rose from 86% in the previous poll to 88% this week. Quinnipiac’s poll showed a similar jump, from 87% to 90%.

“He is at the apex, or close thereto, in terms of his popularity with Republican voters,” Enten added.

Enten also highlighted how little the Epstein issue appears to matter to Republican voters. “On X, all you hear about is the Epstein files,” he said, “but how about out in the real public?” In CNN’s polling, only one Republican named the Epstein case as the nation’s most important problem. “Not 1%—one respondent,” Enten emphasized, crediting polling colleague Ariel Edwards-Levy with flagging the data point.

“Not much of a surprise that therefore Donald Trump’s approval rating has not suffered with Republicans,” Enten concluded. “Because the bottom line is most Americans say it’s not high up on their priority list.”

This comes after Trump blasted what he called the “Jeffrey Epstein Hoax” in a recent Truth Social post, accusing the “Radical Left Democrats” of launching yet another smear campaign to distract from his “incredible and unprecedented success.” Comparing the renewed focus on Epstein to past media-driven “scams and hoaxes,” Trump rejected former allies who have embraced the narrative and declared, “I don’t want their support anymore.”

Whenever I hear about someone being 100 years old, one of the first things I think of is how much history they have witnessed in their lifetime. Today’s centenarians were alive when radio, landline telephone, and Ford Model Ts were the height of technology, and now, for the home computers, cell phones, and electric cars of today. They have also witnessed the changes in American jobs over the past 100 years. In 1951, my dad’s first job was as a pin setter in a bowling alley when he was 15. Pinsetters being replaced by technology is a natural progression. But now, a familiar name is sounding the alarm that Artificial Intelligence (AI) is coming for even more American jobs.

Mike Rowe is the host of the Discovery Channel’s “Dirty Jobs.” He has long been an advocate for America’s blue-collar workers, and getting the message out to young people that college is not always what it’s cracked up to be, and that learning a skill or trade that is in high demand could be their best career decision in light of the emergence of AI. On Tuesday, Rowe spoke at the Pennsylvania Energy and Innovation Summit and issued a dire warning. He said:

“We’ve been telling kids for 15 years to code. ‘Learn to code,’ we said. Yeah, well AI is coming for the coders. It’s not coming for the welders, the plumbers, the steamfitters, the pipefitters, the HVAC, or the electricians.”

Rowe went on to illustrate the ever-deepening shortage of blue-collar workers in the U.S. One of the most startling things: He claimed that Black Rock CEO Larry Fink once said to him that over the next several years, the U.S. will need roughly 500,000 electricians. Some of the other statistics are eye-opening as well. The automotive industry is short 80,000 collision repair technicians. The energy industry is short 300,000 to 500,000 employees, and manufacturing is short 400,000 employees.

What’s even more serious is that Rowe rightly argues that the shortage of blue-collar workers is a national security issue. He went on to say: 

“Not a week goes by that the Blue Forge Alliance, who oversees our maritime industrial base – that’s 15,000 individual companies who are collectively charged with building and delivering nuclear-powered subs to the Navy … calls and says “We’re having a hell of a time finding tradespeople. Can you help?”

Rowe said when he asked how many were needed, the answer was 140,000 over the next seven years, but 80,000 right now. He added: 

“These are our submarines. Things go hypersonic, a little sideways with China, Taiwan, our aircraft carriers are no longer the point of the spear. They’re vulnerable. Our submarines matter, and these guys have a pinch point because they can’t find welders and electricians to get them built.” 

Other CEOs are backing up Mike Rowe’s assertion. Jim Farley, CEO of Ford Motors, has predicted that AI will “replace literally half of all white-collar workers in the US.” In June, Amazon CEO Andy Jassy announced that it would trim its workforce due to the use of AI.

America’s traditional four-year universities have become nothing but high-priced indoctrination centers. Students graduate from these institutions with an average debt of $29,000 for a Bachelor’s degree. It goes up from there. Trade school lasts between 18-24 months, with far less debt, if any, and students can immediately enter the job market. 

Rowe said of learning a skill that is in demand, “That’s going to resonate politically, that’s going to resonate practically. It’s gonna move the needle.” Practical resonance, at least for the young people Rowe is speaking to, is working at a high-salary job while your friends are paying off their student loans.

We previously reported on a House Homeland Security Committee hearing that took place on Wednesday and which focused on the failures of the Biden administration on border security matters, specifically as it related to “How NGOs Facilitated the Biden Border Crisis.”

The witnesses who were invited to testify did not mess around, with Blaze National Correspondent Julio Rosas, a veteran of reporting on border-specific matters, going off on the Democrats on the committee for “fearmongering” over the recent ICE immigration sweeps, which have taken violent illegals off the streets and have rescued children from forced child labor and alleged sex offenders on California weed farms.

“They’re content with keeping us as that servant underclass, and that is why it is disgusting to see them criticize that recent raid in Ventura County, where they found unaccompanied minors working alongside convicted sex offenders at a cannabis farm,” Rosas stated.

Another witness who was there to testify was Mike Howell, who is president of the Oversight Project and who is also a Heritage Foundation visiting fellow. Howell is also an advisor to the National Immigration Center for Enforcement, so naturally, he had a lot to say on the subject of border security on Biden’s watch.

But he, too, also took aim at Democrats on the committee, pleading with them to stop the incendiary rhetoric that has put the lives of federal immigration enforcement agents in danger to the point it has led to attempts on their lives.

Naturally, this triggered Democrats, prompting ranking member Bennie Thompson (D-MS) to attempt to shut him down, alleging his testimony was “outside the scope of the hearing.” Republicans disagreed and ultimately allowed Howell to continue.

But the real highlight of the hearing came when Rep. Yassamin Ansari (D-AZ) condescendingly questioned Howell. 

This led to him putting on a master class in not only how not to accept Democrat premises during the course of a debate/discussion, but how to not let them get away with lying about or mischaracterizing your position by demanding they show receipts – which Ansarai couldn’t do and which essentially proved Howell’s implied points about her utter cluelessness:

Not that it’s exactly breaking news that Democrats aren’t sending their best and brightest to Capitol Hill, but it’s worth documenting for the record all the same.

WASHINGTON, DC — Bahrain Crown Prince and Prime Minister Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa announced that Bahraini companies are investing $17 billion in the United States during a meeting with President Donald Trump at the White House on Wednesday.

Trump and the crown prince met with reporters in the Oval Office ahead of a private meeting, where Trump said they would discuss a range of topics, including trade and the strikes on Iran. The president spoke glowingly of his relationship with the country.

“We’ve had a tremendous relationship — I have personally with Bahrain over the years, and it has been a fantastic ally. And anything they needed, we helped them, and anything we needed, they helped us,” Trump said.

The crown prince shared that they would discuss security issues and trade, and touted billions in investment into the U.S. from Bahraini companies.

“We’re very happy to be announcing $17 billion worth of deals that are coming to the United States. And this is real… These aren’t fake deals. These are real deals,” he said, to which Trump joked, “You don’t have to borrow the money.”

“It only builds upon a legacy that we’re very proud of,” Al Khalifa said. “We have had a relationship in the civil side between our two countries since 1893 and formally since 1948, so may it long continue, and we look forward to many, many more years of productive partnership,” he added.

The investment announcement comes a day after Trump attended Sen. Dave McCormick’s (R-PA) inaugural Pennsylvania Energy and Innovation Summit, where McCormick shared that more than $90 billion in investment was pouring into the state thanks to Trump.

Trump said on Monday that the United States has attracted $15 trillion in investments since he took office.

“There’s never been anything like that. In the history of our country, there has not been anything like it or even close,” Trump said.

Prices paid to American businesses for goods and services held steady in June, defying predictions that tariffs would create inflationary presssures in the U.S. economy.

The producer price index was unchanged in June compared with the previous month, the Department of Labor said Wednesday. Economists had expected a rise of 0.2 percent after a 0.3 percent rise in May and a 0.3 percent decline in April.

Compared with a year ago, the producer price index (PPI) is up 2.3 percent, a significantly slower rate of inflation than the 2.5 percent forecast and the 2.6 percent reported in May.

PPI for final demand measures the prices paid to American businesses for goods and services. It includes sales to consumers, households, businesses, and foreign purchasers, a broader array of customers than is measured by the consumer price index. Although it is sometimes referred to as a “wholesale” price index, it is not an index of wholesale prices.

Goods prices rose by 0.3 percent in June but these increases were offset by a 0.1 percetn decline in the much larger services sector.

Core PPI, which excludes food and energy prices, was also flat for the month. Compared with a year ago, core PPI is up 2.6 percent, a significant slowdown in inflation from the prior month’s 3.0 percent annual increase.

So-called “super core” PPI, which also excludes a measure of business margins known as “trade services,” was also flat. Compared with a year ago, it is up 2.5 percent, down from the 2.7 percent gain recorded in May.

Core goods prices rose 0.3 percent in June, led by higher costs for communication equipment, manufacturing capital goods, and durable consumer products such as electronics and appliances. These gains reflect strong domestic demand and investment rather than broad-based inflationary pressure. The data offer no clear evidence of tariff pass-through, suggesting instead a shift in relative prices driven by sector-specific supply and demand dynamics.

The Labor Department’s PPI survey also includes data on intermediate demand prices, which reflect what businesses receive from sales to other businesses for goods and services that are used to produce products for final demand. Processed goods for intermediate demand ticked up 0.1 percent and unprocessed goods rose by a sharp 0.7 percent. Prices for intermediate services fell 0.1 percent.

Democrats and the media continue to be on the wrong side of the issue when it comes to immigration sweeps, as evidenced by their hysterical reactions to things like operations that are conducted in gang/drug-infested parks in states like California, as well as the deportations of violent criminal illegal immigrants arrested across the country.

We’ve seen it, too, in their hyperventilating over Alligator Alcatraz in Florida, where the media hit pieces are fast and flowing, with the allegations against it taking a rather interesting turn after a group of Democrats recently toured the facility.

“They essentially get their drinking water and they brush their teeth where they poop,” Rep. Debbie Wasserman Schultz (D-FL) proclaimed, apparently not realizing that there are similar setups in many American households.

The latest example comes courtesy of a bust that was made in the state of Rhode Island, with ICE agents taking an illegal immigrant and allegedly “self-admitted” MS-13 gang member into custody in what turned out to be an intense series of events. After the arrest made headlines, it prompted the following response from woke Rhode Island state lawmaker Enrique Sanchez (D):

The Nazi Gestapo ICE thugs kidnapped another of our neighbor in Providence this morning. This time on Alverson st.  

The ICE thugs damaged a couple cars that belonged to residents as well. They think they are above the law. I strongly condemn this act of terror and will- be demanding answers and seeking action tomorrow. I am tired of this sh**. Providence doesn’t want ICE thugs in our city.

ICE, however, pushed back on Sanchez’s story of the arrest of his “neighbor,” Ivan Rene-Mendoza Meza, detailing the circumstances around his arrest and shredding Sanchez’s priorities in a statement provided to Fox News’ Bill Melugin:

ICE was targeting a Honduran known MS-13 gang member, IVAN RENE-MENDOZA MEZA, who had pending local charges in RI for fentanyl trafficking and had been released from local custody with ICE’s detainer ignored due to sanctuary policies. I’m told it was the 6th District Court in RI that ignored ICE’s detainer. 

When ICE agents attempted a traffic stop to arrest MENDOZA MEZA, he struck ICE vehicles before bailing out of his car and running into an apartment. He was surrounded and eventually surrendered. I’m told it was ICE vehicles and his own car that were damaged.

Here’s the statement ICE issued to Fox News:

Mr. Sanchez thinks so little of his community he refers to ruthless MS-13 as “neighbors”. What say you, Providence? The only thugs we see are the illegal terrorist gangbangers we are trying to remove from the neighborhoods of Providence.

Incredibly, in the face of all the evidence against Mendoza Meza, which was verified by local news outlets, Sanchez stood behind his words:

“I’m willing to accept my mistake or my error of maybe you know not mentioning that, or defending someone who was dealing with drug trafficking, but in the meantime, I can’t stay quiet about this [I.C.E. presence in Providence],” said Sanchez. “I don’t hold back my words on how I label the ICE officials….If you choose to not believe history, or watch history, or read history, then that’s your problem. But when you do the compare and contrast of the situations in the 40s to what we’re dealing with now, it’s the same thing.”

Previously, he announced he was willing to get “prosecuted and arrested” if it meant stopping ICE operations in Rhode Island (language warning):

The only arrest he’s had so far, however, stemmed from an alleged drunk driving incident back in February. And in 2023, Sanchez introduced a bill he hoped would give illegal immigrants the right to vote in Rhode Island:

When an officer asked Sanchez if he would take a field sobriety test, he asked if he could order an Uber if he refused. An officer told him he would not be able to order an Uber, and he refused to take a field sobriety test at the scene. 

In an initial court appearance on the day of his arrest, Sanchez pleaded not guilty to driving while intoxicated, and has since pleaded not guilty to lesser civil charges of refusing a chemical test and failure to obey traffic control devices.

In 2023, Sanchez filed RI H5461, a bill to give illegal immigrants the right to vote in the state.
