According to a report, a left-wing group associated with billionaire George Soros won a $172 million federal contract from President Joe Biden to help border crossing youth avoid deportation.

The Vera Institute of Justice has financial ties with Soros and won a federal contract worth $171.7 million to provide legal services to Unaccompanied Alien Child (UACs). This will allow them to avoid deportation.

Fox News reported that the federal contract could see Vera Institute of Justice receive $1 billion in taxpayer funding.

The agreement states that the arrangement is valid until March 2023, but could be extended until March 2027 to reach $983 million. This is the largest federal contract Vera has ever secured for immigration-related services in any one year since the mid 2000s.

The Vera Insitute is meanwhile powered by government grants and contracts that are taxpayer-backed, such as the one it received in March. According to its most recent financial audit, $152million of the $191 million in group revenue was derived from government sources between July 1, 2020 and June 30, 2021.

The institute aims to end mass incarceration by reducing the number of prisons, jails, and detention centers in the United States. The group also supports defunding police.

To help UACs avoid being deported, the Obama administration awarded $310 million to The Vera Institute of Justice.

This group also accepts taxpayer money through sanctuary jurisdictions.

For instance, in 2019, the Vera Institute of Justice partnered with Philadelphia, Pennsylvania to create a program that helps illegal aliens avoid deportation. This included providing legal services for free.
