As we reported, House Speaker Kevin McCarthy (R-CA) lit up a CNN reporter the other day when they tried to ask him about supporting former President Donald Trump after his indictment, asking whether he was prepared to defend Trump.

McCarthy turned the tables on the reporter, asking how CNN could justify hiring people like former FBI official Andrew McCabe and DNI James Clapper. McCarthy pointed out how McCabe was fired by the FBI for “lacking candor” and Clapper was part of that group of 51 officials who claimed, without any evidence to support it, that the Hunter Biden laptop was likely Russian disinformation.

But he also took on another reporter, pointing out that while they keep asking him about Trump, they don’t ask “one question” about Joe Biden — the guy currently occupying the office — and his classified documents. Watch McCarthy light up a reporter for acting like a democratic operative, not understanding the facts. He said that he hadn’t had them ask even one question about why Biden would even have had classified documents as a senator, according to reports. He grills the reporters, “Does that raise any questions to you?”

One responded, “Well, he gave them back,” without seeming to grasp what the problem was.

As a senator, you have to view classified documents in a SCIF, which stands for sensitive compartmented information facility. It’s an ultra-secure room, a secure tightly controlled setting. That’s different from the situation with the president where he has more access to the material. So claiming that he gave them back doesn’t answer the question of how he removed them and still had them, to begin with.

“When was he senator?” McCarthy asked, also making the point that if he has documents from when he was a senator, he hasn’t been a senator since 2009. Biden himself mentioned record/s going back to 1974, so he’s had classified documents for years, if the reports are true.

Then he asked all of them, had any of them asked the question of Biden why he would have that document/s outside of a SCIF? “Has anyone asked that question?” Have any of them bothered to do their jobs?

Of course, the answer is no. That one reporter revealed that she didn’t even understand why it is very different, and in most people’s opinions far worse for Biden to have classified documents from when he was a senator. They don’t seem to care because he’s got the “D” after his name.

But even Sen. Dick Durbin (D-IL) was stunned by that at the time, outlining some of the process, “I don’t understand what has happened here.”

McCarthy also was hammering this point home in a Fox News interview, and I have to give him credit for this. He not only is pointing a big flashing red light not just at the unequal application of the law going on here, but the unequal coverage by the media, and he’s shaming them for failing to properly do their jobs and ask the questions that they should be asking.
