Now that former President Donald Trump has secured the GOP presidential nomination, he is in full campaign mode, focusing his attacks on Democrats, especially the ones using the legal system to target him. In a flurry of posts on Truth Social on Friday, Trump railed against the politically motivated legal action wielded against him by New York Attorney General Letitia James.

After being ordered to pay an exorbitant $454 million civil fraud judgment, the former president is using the slew of indictments against him to attack his opponents.

In one post, Trump lambasted James and Judge Arthur Engoron, who presided over the civil fraud case, referring to James as “the WORST ATTORNEY GENERAL IN THE COUNTRY,” and Engoron as a “Flake Radical Left Trump Hater.”

Trump railed against the proceedings against him, denouncing it as “SOOO UNCONSTITUTIONAL AND UNFAIR,” and likening their actions to the same tactics that are used in “COMMUNIST COUNTRIES.”

The former president also claimed James “TAKES HER ORDERS DIRECTLY FROM THE WHITE HOUSE,” and is engaged in “ELECTION INTERFERENCE AT A LEVEL NEVER SEEN BEFORE.”

As the other indictments move forward, Trump will have even more fodder to use for his campaign. Indeed, the former president’s polling numbers have been buoyed by efforts to prosecute him. Despite the constant media attacks and legal actions being hurled at him, Trump is polling neck and neck with President Joe Biden.

The findings of another poll were published recently showing that Trump’s political jiu jitsu could be working. The survey, conducted by McLaughlin and Associates, showed that 56 percent of respondents view the indictments and other legal actions against Trump as politically motivated efforts to influence the outcome of the presidential election.

Even though Democrats and their close friends and allies in the activist media have attempted to portray the indictments as pursuits for justice, the American people, including a significant chunk of Democrat voters, clearly see that it’s nothing more than an effort to weaponize the government against a political opponent.

All of this plays into Trump’s narrative that Democrats and the Deep State are out to get him. Indeed, with all that has taken place over the past decade, it is difficult to refute this narrative. If the former president plays his cards right, all of the shady tactics being employed by the left might just backfire in November.
