Last year, following the bombing attack on Kabul’s Hamid Karzai airport in Kabul, during the withdrawal from Afghanistan, I wrote about the 13 military personnel who died. The attack also claimed the lives of more than 100 Afghans. It’s hard to put into words the loss of so many young people, who sacrificed their lives for their country, in this attack. All of them were so young, and all showed such devotion to their country. Their deaths brought light to the world. It is hard to imagine what their families went through.

The family of Lance Corporal Kareem Nikoui is one of those families that has suffered tremendously.

Hours before he was killed, Kareem Nikoui, a 20-year-old Marine, sent his father photos of himself helping a young Afghan boy and girl at the airport in Kabul.

He was not only taken away in the attack but also his brother Dakota Halverson committed suicide this month. Dakota was troubled by the death of his brother. According to Shana Chappell his mother, Dakota used to sneak into the cemetery at night in order to rest near Kareem. He then took his own life right across the street from the memorial that they have in the village to his brother.

Two days after her second son’s death, Chappell spoke with Townhall. She stated that she wanted Americans to understand the “ripple effect,” of what happened in Afghanistan. She talked about Nikoui’s long-held desire to join Marine Corps, the events leading up to the attack, and the impact on her family. She also discussed what the Biden Administration should do differently. Chappell said that Joe Biden looked at his watch while he was meeting with their families as if he had something more important. Biden interrupted her attempts to talk about her son.

“He interrupted me and started talking about HIS son…This isn’t about your son. This is about MY son.”

“He interrupted me and began talking about his son”.  “And I recall looking at him and thinking, This is not about your son, it is about mine”. “She said that Biden told her he wanted to express his feelings. His son was killed by cancer. They had the opportunity to spend time together, talk with him, and say goodbye. “My son died due to the man I am talking with,” she told Biden. “He had the blood of 13 people on his hands”.

The complete interview with Chappell can be viewed here.

Her account was temporarily disabled after she posted a sexist comment about Biden on Instagram. Her Facebook was also shut down.

Chappell believed that this would never have happened under President Donald Trump and that this was due to the failures of the Biden Administration. She stated that she did not feel justice had been done for her son’s death and spoke about Dakota.

At the end of the interview, Chappell had a message for Joe Biden:

“If I could meet him face-to-face, I would tell him that he is a coward and he is doing a terrible job”. “He is a failure”. “He has always been a failure in all he does”. “He will always be a failure”. “He is also a traitor”. “I would tell him what a disrespectful person he is”. “13 children gave their lives to this country and he refused to say their names”. “I don’t want him to say my child’s name, I never want to hear his name come out of his mouth”.

Chappell stated that she doesn’t fear the Administration. “How can you fear a bunch of cowards?”
