Biden’s New Gas Tax Proposal, One Obama Called a Gimmick Back in 2008

0

Joe Biden wants to boost his numbers and make it look like he is doing something about gas prices and inflation. According to a Civiqs poll, he’s at 32 percent approval, his lowest ever. It looks like the Democrats will be in serious trouble come November.

According to a senior administration official, Biden now plans to ask Congress for a suspension of federal gas taxes for three more months. Federal gas taxes are now at 18 cents per gallon and 24 cents for diesel per gallon.

Although gas prices might fall a bit if Congress agrees to the idea, prices are increasing so fast that even an 18-cent “drop” might be absorbed. However, this doesn’t solve the ongoing problem of producing more energy. Biden doesn’t want to address the root issue. He’s repeatedly stated that he views this crisis as an opportunity for them to eliminate fossil fuels and achieve their radical green energy goals.

Barack Obama described suspending the gas tax as a “gimmick” in 2008 to save half of a tank of gasoline so that lawmakers could claim they had done something. Obama stated in April 2008 that “the easiest thing for a politician is to tell you exactly what it is you want to hear.” It is Biden’s attempt at helping himself and the Democrats in the midterms. To get votes, it’s only temporary. What happens if it goes back down and the problem isn’t solved? This is not what he’s referring to.

The tax holiday could make matters worse.

Concerns are also raised about the impact of a gas tax holiday on already high inflation. The Committee for a Responsible Federal Budget is a non-partisan group advocating for reducing the federal budget. It has previously been argued that suspending tax for a period of 10 months could increase gasoline demand and other goods when the economy already faces high consumer demand and pandemic-induced disruptions to supply chains.

The blog stated that while the gas tax holiday might reduce prices at the pump it will also increase demand for gasoline and other goods at a time when the economy is not able to absorb it. “The result could lead to even higher inflation rates in 2023,” the blog post stated.

Instead of increasing supply, he would actually increase demand, which would eventually make the situation worse. Biden might be hoping the Republicans will question his move, and it doesn’t go through. Then he can attack them.

Biden blames the oil companies and threatens them with legal action. The truth is that gas prices have risen since Biden took office, partly because he attacked energy companies. After demonizing and trying to get them in, he now wants them to produce even more. They can’t make a dent in their efforts to produce more.

About a week ago, the American Petroleum Institute and American Fuel & Petrochemical Manufacturers wrote a joint letter explaining to Biden that their refineries operate close to their maximum capacity but that almost half of their capacity was removed due to facilities converting to renewable energy. All the restrictions imposed by government agencies also limit capacity. The green energy policies he has promoted are directly responsible for Biden’s inability to refine more.

Michael Wirth, the Chevron CEO, also criticized Biden’s approach to instability and stated that if problems are to be fixed, they must stop. “Your Administration has largely tried to criticize and sometimes vilify our industry.” These actions are not helpful in meeting the challenges we face, and they are not what the American people should be rewarded.

Biden’s reply to that letter? “I didn’t know they’d get their feelings hurt that quickly,” was Biden’s response to the letter. He sees every challenge as a personal insult. He’s not listening to what they have to say, but it’s right for him and for American national security. A stable energy policy is essential. Biden’s approach was anything but.

Biden Administration Preparing For Wrong Kind Of China Conflict In Case Of Taiwan Invasion

0

The American Enterprise Institute has released a new article warning against the Biden administration’s preparations for an armed conflict. The article argues that war with Beijing will be more costly than official officials think.

Senior fellows Hal Brands (of this think tank) and Michael Beckley, (of the think-tank’s publication, “Defending Taiwan”) suggest that Washington might be preparing for the wrong kind of war. They offer some suggestions for how to prepare.

Many defense planners and the Pentagon seem to be focused only on winning a short-term conflict in Taiwan Strait. This would prevent a Chinese invasion.

They claim that both sides would prefer a small, but spectacular war in the western Pacific. But that’s not what they will get.

They claim that a war between China, the U.S. and Taiwan would be “likely to last, and not short”, regionalized, rather than localized, far easier to start than end, and much more easily initiated than finished. ”

Both sides have much at stake and the potential to sustain their losses.

They state that Beijing will not give up if the United States defeats a Chinese attack against Taiwan. They say that Chinese President Xi Jinping explicitly stated that the Taiwan issue must be resolved during the current generation and that “reunification” is essential for the great revitalizion China’s nation. Beckley and Brands warned that Xi could lose power and even his lives if he admits defeat.

The American side points out the implications for the balance power and domestic outrage over a “Pearl Harbor-style attack by the U.S.A. to start the war” as reasons they will continue fighting.

Brands and Beckley foresaw a long-term war. They offered four options for Washington’s preparation. ”

They suggested that the U.S. should “own the escalation ladder”, and be ready to blockade China’s blocksades in order to stop them “threatening to transform an extended war into an economic catastrophe for China.” ”

They stated that the U.S. must define victory realistically. Given that both sides possess nuclear weapons, they predict that “anegotiated compromise” will be the result.

China’s aggressive behavior towards Taiwan puts the US in “dangerous waters,” says a Chinese expert
What would it end?

Brands and Beckley state that “the simplest solution would to stop attacking Taiwan and make a promise to Taiwan that it would not declare independence and America would not support it.” This suggests that the U.S. could offer to withdraw its troops from Taiwan.

The United States could have saved an energetic, strategically placed democracy. Both parties could save face and move on.

Twitter Erupts After Board Endorses Elon Musk’s Bid For Platform

0

Twitter users were shocked and amazed Tuesday when Musk’s offer was accepted by Twitter’s board.

Fox Business reported Tuesday that Twitter’s board had “unanimously recommended that its shareholders vote in favor of Musk’s $44 Billion bid to purchase the company.” The recommendation was revealed in a Tuesday SEC filing.

It stated that the Twitter board had “determined that the merger arrangement is advisable” and that the merger and other transactions contemplated in the merger agreement were fair to, advisable, and in the best interest of Twitter’s stockholders. The merger was (2) approved and adopted.”

Musk, who was voted in by the board, is now one step closer to becoming the owner of Twitter. This move has been controversial and many critics remain unsure if it will happen.

Musk stated that there are still “unresolved issues” to resolve before the deal is finalized. These include debt financing and a resolution to his Twitter dispute over the amount of spam and fake accounts.

However, Musk’s new social media platform was a source of excitement and fear.

Washington Times columnist Tim Young ridiculed the hysterical leftist in tweets. He wrote, “The Twitter board unanimously recommended that Elon Musk’s $44B takeover be approved… so prepare for all leftists who have said they would leave Twitter… not to leave Twitter.”

Keemstar, YouTube creator, exclaimed: “Twitter board approves Musk’s $44 billion acquisition!” It’s happening!”

“Twitter’s board unanimously approves Elon Musk’s $44 billion takeover offer.” Miranda Devine, Fox News contributor, wrote that there was much gnashing of teeth at the Ministry of Truth.

Steven Crowder, a conservative comedian, predicted the collapse of leftists by tweeting: “Twitter board approves @elonmusk’s bid for $44 billion in unanimous decision. “Leftist minds will explode,”

The news was not received enthusiastically by all. Dean Obeidallah, a MSNBC contributor, reminded Twitter users after the announcement that Musk might reinstate the Twitter account of former President Trump.

Elon Musk now wants to take back the man who attempted a coup on Twitter. Musk can be called many things, but an American patriot cannot be one,” he tweeted.

Dary Rezvani, a former Democrat congressional candidate, slammed Musk over recent news while mocking another headline about the billionaire’s biological son – now a trans man – disowning him.

Rezvani tweeted, “Elon lost his child today, but gained a project he didn’t want but continued pushing so that he could appear cool to his internet buddies.”

Matt Vespa, Townhall’s chief executive, expressed sympathy for Twitter employees who were unable to sleep after the approval. He tweeted, “While we wait for opinions from SCOTUS, Twitter’s board unanimously approved Elon Musk’s $44 billion bid for Twitter. It was a difficult day for the woke employees Again.”

“Don’t do it!” Nelson Branco, a Toronto Sun reporter, exclaimed on the platform.

Matthew Loop, author and businessman, said that he hoped this was a win for free speech.

Mark Levin To Moderate Two GOP Congressional Candidate Debates At Florida Sunshine Summit

0

Mark Levin will moderate the debates between two Florida Republican congressional candidates at the 2022 Sunshine Summit. The Republican Party of Florida plans to host four such discussions as the midterms rapidly approach and Republicans hope to take back control of the House in November.

Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis (R), made the announcement Monday at a Callahan press conference. Qualified candidates from congressional districts 4, 7, 13, and 15 will participate in the four debates. The 13th district will include the Republicans competing to fill Rep. Charlie Crist (D-FL’s) seat. Crist hopes that DeSantis will challenge him in this year’s gubernatorial race.

The debates will be held at Hollywood’s Seminole Hard Rock Hotel and Casino. Mark Levin, conservative talker, author, Life, Liberty & Levin host, will moderate two of the debates.

“So, as part of the Sunshine State Summit, we are, The Republican Party… They’re going to be sending out invitations to the qualified candidates for those races. DeSantis stated during the press conference that they would be having debates at the Sunshine Summit.

“There will be four debates. He said that he had Mark Levin for the first two debates.

“And then, we’ll have, the two other we’ll work with and we’ll announce the moderators. It just gives the chance for credible candidates to be able it. To qualify, you will need to meet a certain threshold. This threshold is very achievable. He said that it was very, very possible.

The RPOF requires that a candidate poll at least 5 percent in an RPOF poll of each primary race by July 13, 2022, or raise and report publicly “at minimum $100,000 in monetary contributions” by July 13, 2022.

But I believe it’ll turn out to be something worthwhile. “You know, you do these summits. But to have just a day’s worth a bunch people giving platitudes or these speeches — I think that the people get bored by it,” said the governor.

“And so, we want to ensure that we’re doing things I believe are really, really informative. He said that this will provide candidates with a unique opportunity to talk about their visions, and compare them to their competitors. Stay tuned for more information.

The RPOF describes the Sunshine Summit as having a “robust agenda” of guest speakers, panel discussions and other programming that features top Florida Republican officials and conservative voices.

Biden’s Family Has to Protect Him From the Media

0

Joe Biden once suggested that Vladimir Putin did not want him to become president because he was afraid of him. Biden doesn’t currently seem like a threat to Putin or anyone else. He needs to be surrounded by his family in order to avoid answering questions from the media.

Biden was on his latest vacation and stopped by reporters to chat during a morning walk. However, his granddaughter and daughter pulled him away.

His family has had to rescue him many times during his vacation. Jill Biden drug him from the reporters on Friday.

Biden relied often on his closest friends to keep him from embarrassing himself in front of the press. Biden was saved by the Easter Bunny in April from answering questions from the media during the White House Easter Egg Roll.

Since Biden recently fell off of his bicycle, his family must want him to take some time before embarrassing himself in front of the media again. With Biden, it won’t be long before he embarrasses himself, but for now, it may be best if his family keeps him from making himself look like the complete idiot that we all know he is. Give it time, because we all know it will happen again.

Twitter Board of Directors Unanimously Recommends Sale to Elon Musk

0

A filing with the Securities and Exchange Commission is now available to the public. Twitter’s board has unanimously approved the sale of Twitter shares to Elon Musk.

The filing is available on the SEC website. It clearly states that Twitter’s Board of Directors feels that the sale is in the shareholders’ best interests.

After considering all the factors detailed in the proxy statement, Twitter’s Board of Directors unanimously determined: (1) determined that the merger agreement is advisable and the merger and the other transactions contemplated by the merger agreement are fair to, advisable, and in the best interests of Twitter and its stockholders; and (2) adopted and approved the merger agreement, the merger and the other transactions contemplated by the merger agreement.

The Board of Directors of Twitter unanimously recommends you vote:

(1) “FOR” the adoption of the merger agreement;

(2) “FOR” the compensation that will or may become payable by Twitter to its named executive officers in connection with the merger; and

(3)“FOR” the adjournment of the special meeting, from time to time, to a later date or dates, if necessary or appropriate, to solicit additional proxies if there are insufficient votes to adopt the merger agreement at the time of the special meeting.

Next, the shareholders will vote on the sale. This would be the last step in Elon Musk’s acquisition of the social media giant.

This filing comes one week after Musk met with Twitter employees virtually and months after he declared his intention to purchase Twitter and make it private in the hope of reestablishing Twitter as a platform of free expression.

Musk’s buyout has been met with skepticism by Left-leaning activists and politicians. They have even gone so far as to call him a white supremacist and mentally unstable. The board of directors recognizes that this deal is the best for investors, despite some resistance seen in leaked communications by staff.

Musk would be the chief executive of one of the largest social media platforms online if shareholders approve the sale.

The U.S. Should Be Cautious as Russia Raises Tensions Over Lithuania

0

As economic sanctions against Ukraine progressed from talk to actual, the European checkerboard became more complex over the weekend. The EU has imposed new sanctions that prohibit the shipment of certain products, such as metals, coal, and construction materials, between EU territories and Russia.

Kaliningrad in Russia, which is the Russian capital and home to approximately 500,000 people, is the headquarters of the Russian Baltic Fleet. It was a pocket territory that the Soviet Union took from Russia at the end of World War Two. Kaliningrad was isolated from the rest of Russia after the Cold War. It is an island that borders the Baltic Sea on one side and has the NATO countries of Lithuania and Poland on the other.

Kaliningrad is in a similar position to Crimea, the Russian Black Sea Fleet’s headquarters, until it was annexed into the Russian Federation by Vladimir Putin. Operations began in February 2014, and a treaty was signed by March 18th.

The rail line that ran through the former Soviet Republic of Lithuania, which is now independent and a member of the EU and NATO, was used for the transportation of goods from mainland Russia to Kaliningrad over many years.

This latest crisis has been created.

The West is moving from the preparation phase to the implementation phase of the sanctions imposed by Russia on Ukraine’s invasion are now in the process of implementing the sanctions. Goods and services will be restricted.

Lithuania began imposing sanctions on goods transported by rail from their territory to or from Russia in June 2022. This is in effect from the isolated region of Kaliningrad to mainland Russia. Lithuania stated that it will only limit items on the EU’s sanctions list according to the timeline for restrictions implementation. The transport of people remains free of restriction.

Josep Borrell from the EU’s foreign policy chief said that Vilnius has been complying with the sixth round of sanctions imposed on it by the European Union. Borrell was quoted as saying that Lithuania has not applied any sanctions imposed by the European Union unilaterally and that it does not have any unilateral restrictions.

The Russians seem to have been unprepared for this. Anton Alikhanov, Kaliningrad Governor, noted that Russia had already started operating two ferries between Kaliningrad & St. Petersburg in order to handle restricted traffic. However, the Russians would not have seven additional ferries to offset Lithuania’s rail restrictions until late this year.

Moscow is believed to have summoned diplomatic representatives from Lithuania and the European Union in order to discuss the issue.

Moscow also does saber-rattling. The Russian foreign ministry said Monday that if the cargo transit between Kaliningrad and the rest Russian Federation’s territory through Lithuania is not fully restored, Russia will take all necessary measures to safeguard its national interests.

Moscow has made this claim before. Moscow has said this before when it annexed Crimea’s Russian Navy Base in 2014. This act ultimately led to war in Ukraine.

This naval base at the Baltic Sea has one problem: taking and holding territory “protecting its national interests” is done through land that triggers NATO’s Article 5 mutual defense pact.

I am more focused on Lithuania as a possible matchstick. For world peace, the stakes of tension rising to ignite major war are higher than those in Ukraine.

Ukraine is technically still a non-aligned nation. Ukraine is not yet a member either of the European Union or the North Atlantic Treaty Organization. This means that all sides have the right to live in it and get away with murder.

Despite all the media coverage about the bravery displayed by Ukraine in its war against Russia, the war is now overwhelmingly in favor of Russia. The battle of Fulda Gap was fought earlier this year. NATO’s defense strategy to stop a mobile army of tanks by using man-portable anti-tank missiles succeeded perfectly. Western militaries rejoiced in the success of their defense investment that began with the US TOW missile, which was first used in Vietnam.

This phase of the war is over. It now focuses on the defense of Ukrainian cities, which is something that the Russian army excels at — the meat grinding siege craft and rolling artillery barrages. Slowly but surely, the Ukrainians are buckling. The Russians also have learned from their logistical blunders the importance of interdicting the supply lines between Ukraine and the West. Unfortunately, many Ukrainian lives will be lost before a peace treaty is signed by the West. This would force the Zelensky government into accepting the agreement that would end the active conflict.

The next step is to pick up the pieces from the Ukraine mess. It will take many decades to repair the damage done to the European economic landscape. An animus between East and West will continue to fuel tensions and threaten the political stability of both sides.

It is important to ask: Will it end before any other flashpoints appear on the European Checkerboard? US, EU, and Russians need to manage sanctions-induced tension with care. If something goes wrong, Lithuania immediately triggers calamitous agreements. As this year progresses, I rate it as a dangerous flashpoint in the same order that Sarajevo was to start World War One. There are other fractures that could emerge in Russia and the West.

This shifts the focus from Ukraine’s survival to Europe and America’s survival. It is unclear how quickly mainstream media will figure it out and start asking hard questions.

What Do Men Give Birth and Defund the Police Have in Common?

0

Unless you have been brainwashed to believe otherwise, the statements “men give life” and “defund police” are absurd.

Why then do leftists, as opposed to conservatives and liberals, believe these things?

There are likely two related explanations.

One is that the Left wants to dismantle every normative institution. When men have children, the terms “man” or “woman” is meaningless. “Men give birth” is the end of the distinction between male and female, which is the most fundamental distinction in the human race. Racial differences pale in comparison. So are national distinctions.

Marxists are for the elimination of the male-female difference because Marxists believe that class is the only thing that matters.

Another explanation is that leftism’s endgame is chaos. This explanation is similar to the first, as the destruction of all distinctions results in chaos. Order is defined as distinctions. Chaos is when there are no distinctions.

When I wrote about the Bible’s first five books, I realized the importance of distinctions. Differentiations are key to the Bible’s moral order. They include:

Man and God
Good and evil
Human and animal
Holy and profane
Parent and child
Man and woman
Beautiful and ugly

The Judeo-Christian moral order weltanschauung is so dependent on distinctions that God made them for the Six Days. They are often called the Six Days of Creation, the fact is that after creating the “heavens and the earth,” God does little creating. After Genesis 1:1 the only things God creates are the animals listed in 1:21 and the human being (1:27).

What did God do with the remaining Six Days? He made order out of chaos.

This is why Genesis 2:2 may be the most important verse in the Bible. Genesis 1:1 is the most crucial because it outlines the premise of the Bible. “And all was null, void,” which means that all was chaos.

Chaos is the state of the universe. God is required to transform chaos into order.

There are many distinctions that makeup order. The distinction between night and daylight, land and sea, and moral or social order were all dependent on these distinctions. They all depend upon God but the Bible only describes one of them as being “created by God” — the human beings as male and female.

These biblical distinctions are being obliterated by the Left:

The Left rejects the distinction between God and man. Marx stated, “Man is God.” The Left denies that there is any transcendent Being to whom man must obey morality. Man must answer to himself and eventually to a left-wing government.

The Left rejects the distinction between good and evil. The Left believes there is no objective morality. The individual and the community decide what is good and bad.

The Left rejects the distinction between animal and human. People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals, the largest animal rights group, says that there is no moral distinction between chickens and human beings. They are equally valuable. PETA says there is no moral distinction between a barbecued chicken in America or a cremated Jew during the Holocaust.

The Left ignores the distinction between beauty and ugly in art. This explains why the Left has produced ugly music, architecture, and meaningless art for over a century.

The Left now denies that there is a difference between men and women.

What’s the point of all this? It’s all about returning to chaos and rejecting the divine order that made civilization possible. The reason “men give birth” can be attributed to “defunding the police”. Both are linked to chaos.

Ask those who claim men give birth, or seek to defund police departments, “Does chaos exist?” Most people won’t understand what you are talking about. Chaos is not what the Left wants on a conscious level.

It is what the Left creates. The war against Western civilization is against order and distinctions. The Left is against talking about Judeo-Christian or biblical values. These values are the divine moral and social distinctions, and the subsequent order that make up Western civilization.

This is why “men give birth” as well as “defund the police” are closely related. Both represent disorder and chaos.

Mr. Bean Star Slams Cancel Culture

0

Rowan Atkinson was a comedy icon who is forever remembered as Mr. Bean. He slammed politics and its grip on comedy.

Atkinson spoke to The Irish Times and stated that comedy shouldn’t be stripped of its ability to offend. He also argued that offense can sometimes be its primary job.

The Johnny English actor stated, “It seems to me that comedy’s job is to offend or have the potential of offending, and it can’t be drained from that potential.” “A true free society should allow you to make jokes about anything.”

Atkinson described comedy and tragedy as “extremely close friends, and you can’t have one without another.”

He said, “Every joke has someone to hurt, no matter how fictional, non-fictional, notional, ideological, or human.” “I suppose that you must accept that it is the way it really is.”

Atkinson slammed cancel culture in 2021. He compared it to “digital equivalent to the medieval mob wandering the streets looking to find someone to burn.”

Atkinson explained to the U.K. Radio Times that “the problem we have online it that an algorithm decides how we want to see,” which leads to a binary, simplistic view of society. It becomes a matter of whether you are with us or against. If you are against us, you should be ‘canceled’

Atkinson said, “It is important that we are exposed to a broad spectrum of opinions. But what we have now digitally is the equivalent of the medieval mob roaming streets looking for someone else to burn.” It is frightening for anyone who has been a victim to that mob, and it fills me fearful about the future.

Rowan Atkinson also supported Boris Johnson, the British Prime Minister in 2018, after he made a joke regarding women wearing burqas.

American Airlines Ending Service In Three Cities Due To Pilot Shortage

0

American Airlines will be closing three cities in this fall as a result of a pilot shortage in the airline industry. FOX Business, a Texas-based carrier, reported Monday that it will cease service in Islip, Ithaca, New York and Toledo, Ohio on Sept. 7.

American Airlines released a statement saying that they are grateful for the service and care provided by their team members to customers in Islip and Ithaca. They also work closely with them during this period.

“We are extremely grateful to the care and service that our team members gave our customers in Islip and Ithaca, and we will continue to work closely with them.”

American Airlines Statement 6/20/22

According to the carrier, it is actively reaching out to customers who have to travel after that date and offering alternative arrangements.

Major airlines are facing a “difficult” decision about cutting service at a time of high demand and pilot shortages.

FOX Business reported this month that 12,000 pilots are needed in the airline industry and that a majority of the country’s airports, approximately 303, offer fewer flights.

According to the Regional Airline Association (RAA), “there were 188 communities who lost at least 25% of the air service during the pandemic or the first half 2022 as the pilot shortage worsened.”

Alaska Airlines CEO Ben Minicucci stated last month that the airline will be cancelling daily flights through June 1 because of a pilot shortage.

Minicucci stated in a note to customers that the carrier was experiencing operational difficulties since April because it didn’t have enough pilots to fly its spring schedule.

Minicucci stated that it has cancelled about 50 of its 1,200 daily flights.

JetBlue also stated earlier this year that it had to cut summer flights due to staffing problems.

United Airlines announced that it would begin its training program in 2022. United Airlines projected that the academy would train approximately 5,000 pilots by 2030, fulfilling half of its goal to recruit 10,000 pilots to counter the shortage.
