A poll has shown that Americans don’t support an “assault weapons banning” in the United States. This is despite Democrats calling to ban it after a massacre at a Texas elementary school. Quinnipiac University polled 50 percent of respondents last week to determine if they support banning semi-automatic long guns in the United States. This is the lowest level of support since Quinnipiac began asking this question back in February 2013.

67% of the population voted for the ban in February 2018, days after the Parkland school shooting that left 17 people dead.

The poll found that Americans favor some form of gun control. 74% support increasing the minimum age to purchase a gun from 18-21.

According to the poll, 57% of Americans favor tighter gun laws in America. This is a significant increase from the Quinnipiac November Poll which had a mere 45% support.

91% support stricter gun laws than 32% of Republicans.

The poll found that 92% of Americans support background check regardless of party affiliation.

The poll also revealed that 42% of Americans expected Washington, D.C. politicians, to reduce gun violence over the next year, while 54% didn’t.

President Joe Biden demanded the reinstatement of the federal assault weapons ban after the Uvalde shooting last week. It involved an AR-15 rifle as well as a gunman. It was passed for the first time in 1994. It was repealed in 2004.

Biden stated that the country must also strengthen Background checks and enact Safe Storage and Red Flag Laws.

J.J. Abrams, the Hollywood director, producer, and head of Bad Robot, is one of over 200 corporate CEOs who are urging the U.S. Senate to pass “gun safety legislation.” This vague term, which they haven’t defined and left open for interpretation, was not defined by them.

J.J. Abrams’ career has seen him manage many TV and movie shows that sensationalized gun play and fire arms, such as the ABC series Alias and Star Wars movies and Mission: Impossible movies. He and Hollywood studios made billions of dollars in box office revenue.

The CEOs appealed to legislators in an open letter they posted online.

They stated that the Senate should urgently pass gun safety legislation to prevent more deaths and injuries.

The letter did not provide any examples of the type of legislation they were looking to support.

The CEOs of Oaktree Capital Management and the San Francisco 49ers are among the signatories.

J.J. Abrams is one of Hollywood’s most left-leaning directors. Bad Robot published an internal guide for employees in 2020 to “dismantle white supremacy at Work” and encouraged employees to create an environment that is “anti-racist”.

Disney fired Peter Rice, its chairman for general entertainment content, according to reports.

Sources claim that Rice was “ill-fit” with Disney’s corporate culture. Variety sources said that Rice was completely blindsided by the decision.

Rice was the chairman and was responsible to oversee Disney’s original entertainment programming as well as news programming on its streaming platforms. Rice was responsible in marketing and developing over 4,500 hours of Disney General Entertainment programming each year across more than 300 entertainment and news programs.

Rice was Disney’s partner in the 2019 purchase of 21st Century Fox’s film and television assets. Rice began his career in Twentieth Century Fox’s marketing department in 1989.
Disney made Rice’s resignation public in a Thursday press release. Dana Walden, Walt Disney Television Chairman, would take his place.

Bob Chapek from Disney, CEO, described Walden as a “dynamic, collaborative leader” who helped to transform the company’s TV business into an entertainment powerhouse.

Walden joined Disney in 2019 with the acquisition 21st Century Fox. He will now report to Chapek.

Geoff Morrell, corporate affairs chief at Disney, left in April. Some thought Rice could be the next Chapek.

This announcement is made amid ongoing political struggles between Ron DeSantis, Florida Governor, and the entertainment mogul Ron DeSantis. Disney said that it would push for the repeal of this law by the state legislature or its adherence in courts after it was signed into effect in March.

Disney stock dropped more than 30% over the past year.

LIV Golf tournament participants will no longer be eligible for the Presidents Cup and PGA Tour events, Commissioner Jay Monahan informed members in a memo Thursday.

LIV Golf’s inaugural tournament in London was the occasion for this memo to PGA Tour members. Stars like Dustin Johnson and Phil Mickelson will be part of the Saudi-backed league. Lee Westwood, Lee Westwood, and Kevin Na are also included. Monahan thanked all those who attended the RBC Canadian Open this weekend and addressed his letter “to those players who chose to ignore the PGA TOUR’s regulations.”

The memo specifically mentioned Johnson, Mickelson, Na, Westwood as well as Sergio Garcia, Talor Goch, Branden Grace, and Matt Jones. Monahan stated that either these players did not receive LIV Golf releases or they didn’t apply.

According to the memo, players who resigned their memberships (including Garcia, Grace Johnson, Kaymer, and McDowell), would be removed from FedEx Cup Points List after the conclusion of the RBC Canadian Open. Those who resign will not be permitted to play in PGA Tour tournaments unless they are a sponsor exemption or another eligibility category.

“These players made their decision for financial reasons. They can’t expect the same PGA Tour benefits, considerations and opportunities as you. This expectation is disrespectful to you, our fans, and our partners. The memo stated that you have chosen to abide by the Tournament Regulations when you achieved your dream of getting a PGA Tour card.

“I’m certain that our partners and fans – who are sure tired of hearing about money, more money, and more money – will continue to be entertained by the world-class competition which you present each week. There are real consequences for every shot and you have a rightful place in history when you reach that elusive winner’s circle.

Monahan praised those who stayed with the PGA Tour and stated that being part of the organization was all about “lifting up” all involved.

“I know that you are with me, and vice versa. We are also supported by our partners”. Monahan said, “It should be clear that former Tour colleagues aren’t able to say the same thing”.

LIV Golf was backed by Saudi Arabia’s financial arm and shook up golf when it offered PGA Tour members crazy amounts of money to play in the rival league.

Some players made the decision to move to the new league and were then subject to the wrathful PGA Tour. Players who might decide to leave the PGA Tour in future years will be subject to the same discipline.

LIV Golf reacted to the suspension of the PGA Tour, calling it “vindictive.”

Today’s announcement of the PGA Tour by vindictive is it deepens the division between the Tour members and the Tour. LIV Golf stated that it was troubling that the Tour, which is an organization that aims to create opportunities for golfers, is the one preventing them from playing.

Is that even possible when the stale politics of both parties today are so profoundly mired in the recurring recriminatory rhetoric of “Yes-you-did-No-I-didn’t-And-anyway-you-did-too”?

Many reasons why these new ideas and hopes won’t be realized. This man’s ideas are likely to have an impact on the public scene far beyond his home state.

Ben Sasse, an ex-law professor at 50 and former president of a university, spoke. He is currently serving his second term as a senator from Nebraska.

Donald Trump has been repeatedly criticized by Senator Ben Sasse. In the second impeachment trial, it was a matter of “conscience”, and the Nebraskan voted with six GOP senators. But, it seems that Nebraskans don’t mind or agree.

Sasse’s suggestion that the United States should have created a NATO of the Pacific from self-interest struck me as fascinating. It would be an alliance of like-minded, open societies in order to counter the imminent military threat of Communist China. It isn’t going away just because it’s being ignored.

It is believed the different Asian countries are able to work together to face the enormous economic and military threat posed by Beijing.

China doesn’t wait. China has signed an agreement with the Solomon Islands that provides hundreds of millions in “aid”, as well as future military bases along major Pacific trade routes.

The United States led the establishment of NATO in 1949. It was created from the remains of World War II Europe where Adolf Hitler had selected individual countries to conquer for his Third Reich.

The North Atlantic Treaty Organization now has 30 members, having ended their historical neutrality towards Russia’s aggression in Ukraine.

NATO used Article 5 (an attack on one member of a group is an assault upon all) in order to stop the Soviet Union’s expansionist Warsaw Pact. This is how NATO won the Cold War.

Ukraine does not belong to NATO. Vladimir Putin sees Ukraine’s proposal for membership at Russia’s southern border as a threat to his legacy of building greater Russia.

Although Ukraine is outgunned and outmanned, this has stopped Putin from attempting to conquest the country and establish a puppet government. Kyiv’s forces are fighting for its survival.

These have been made stronger by an increase in ammo, heavy weapons, and shared intelligence from NATO member countries who know that members such as Poland or the Baltic States are next on Putin’s list of conquest targets.

Sasse said that it was a long time since the United States had done something big and challenging together. Last night, he spoke to an audience at the Reagan Library.

He said:

Allies are necessary to fight the CCP. The US must be the leader. We need a new alliance that is centered on the Pacific as Chairman Xi seeks greater influence.

Let us arm Taiwan’s military to the teeth. Let us amend the Taiwan Relations Act so that there is no more strategic ambiguity.

Let’s merge military partnerships with economic partners, and end anti-trade policies by both the previous administrations. Competition is good for America.

No one can out-think, outhustle, or out-work Americans. The American order has survived the Cold War.

We can make a new American order in order to end the conflict with the Beijing dictator. He is trying to export the dehumanizing surveillance state autocracy and related technologies.

It is exciting to imagine that the United States could be an international leader to protect America’s security overseas from other countries. This contrasts starkly with Joe Biden’s depressing policy toward China.

It’s not known if Hunter Biden made any investments in China in 2013 when he flew there as the vice-president.

What does this mean for strategic competition?

There’s much more refreshing interest in this Reagan Library speech. I urge you to scan it for yourself with an open mind keyed to the future.

Florida Governor Ron DeSantis condemned the “legacy media” and Washington Post at Wednesday’s press conference. He said that “we don’t care anymore about what you think.”

DeSantis was questioned by Christina Pushaw, West Palm Beach Press Secretary if he had broken the Foreign Agents Registration Act. (FARA Act).

DeSantis described DeSantis’ article as a “smear” but stated that he was not deterred.

“I am not intimidated” by the smears by legacy media outlets. He stated that they only attack her because she does great work and is effective in calling out their lies and phony narratives.

He stated, “Whenever they are smearing somebody, you know they’re over their target, and they fear them. “If the Washington Post wasn’t writing puff pieces about me, I would be more worried.

Michael Sherwin was Pushaw’s lawyer. He stated that Pushaw had done voluntary work to advocate for former Georgian President Miikheil Saakashvili. He is close with Volodymyr Zelenskyy. It was also necessary for free and democratic elections in Georgia.

Sherwin said that she was paid $25,000 for her work over two years.

“The work was completed by 2020. The DOJ informed Ms. Pushaw that her work for Mr. Saakashvili needed FARA registration. Ms. Pushaw applied immediately for retroactivity registration. ”

DeSantis also criticized the media for pushing hate pieces against his administration.

“I believe that what we need to understand is that legacy D.C. outlets, as well as New York outlets, are liars. It doesn’t matter how you think. We can continue moving forward for the people in Florida.”

He stated, “It was an absurd attempt at smear and it will have absolutely zero effect on what we’re doing here, in our office.”

My experiences in Eastern Europe have been transparent and open to all. This was many months before I started working for Gov. DeSantis. “

The View’s Wednesday edition featured gun controls. Or at the very least, tried.

Joy was invited by Sara Haines to be a co-host. Joy suggested a Tuesday discussion with Chris Murphy (Democrat of Connecticut). Joy set her sights on joining the GOP.

“Many Republican Party members have already stated, This is all about guns”.

Lindsey Granger (Republican guest host, on-air ringmaster at Sony Pictures’ Daily Blast Live, and former national correspondent at The List) interjected.

“Can you please tell me what this means for gun owners? “There are many people who own guns in this country and do so for the exact same reasons …”

Joy asked: “An AR-15?”

Lindsey continued:

Let me tell a story. A Connecticut man witnessed his neighbor’s home invasion. His entire family was killed.

They don’t. Many gun enthusiasts rely on legacy news sources to get their gun information.

A person with gun knowledge would not let go of relief when an irate criminal held them captive with a modern sporting rifle.

Most people are aware that handgun crimes are common. (It was not known which type of handgun was used in 3,281).

The US continues to wage war on the AR-15. It is not a weapon of war.

Joy urged for a catalyst to alter the Second Amendment stance of Republicans.

“Here is the deal: Gun laws in this country will change once blacks have guns. I’m sure”.

She said, “Trust me on that.” “We will see some action. ”

Regarding assertions — I believe she said one or more of the following statements:

Black Americans do not own guns

Black Americans can’t get guns

Republican politicians have a racist history

The NRA has racist

Members of the NRA are racist

Republican voters tend to be racist

A National Firearms Survey report on American gun ownership in 2021:

The Black population is 42% females and 58% males. Hispanics make up 28.3 percent of firearm owners. 19.4 percent have firearms among Asians. Whites own 34.3 percent of firearms.

Joy wants black Americans to have guns, and she gets it. There are many more Americans who own guns than she thought.

The NRA might one day find the same. They may already know. Joy might be shocked to learn about Colion Noir, an ex-NRA TV man, and online pro-2A advocate.

She may have been also shocked to discover about Lindsey Granger, the black gun owner sitting next to her left who she seems to have ignored, or the subject of Lindsey.

But if Joy’s correct about Republicans and prejudice, she should expect GOP legislators to get busy banning scissors — just as soon as black Americans get those. Of 2019’s nearly-14,000 murders, 1,476 — over four times the known number involving rifles — were committed with “knives or cutting instruments.”

What happens to blacks who get hammers? Republicans may drop the hammer. Blunt objects were used to commit 397 murders. That’s 33 more than with rifles.

Conservatives may believe that all Americans should have access to the Second Amendment.

Rep. Elise Stefanik (R.NY), has proposed the Firearm Proficiency and Training Act (FPTA), which provides a tax break to Americans who are interested gun training and safety courses.

This bill would give Americans a tax break for gun purchases and training to be proficient in firearm safety.
